Any audio players that do this...?

[yakkady]

I'm after an audio player that will be able to automatically add files to playlists based on the tags I put on my mp3s.

Specifically, I put in some descriptors in the 'comment' field of all my mp3s, like 'light', 'soulful', 'heavy', 'dark' etc, so when I want to listen to all soulful stuff I just click that playlist. That's how it works on Foobar on my laptop, but that isn't available on a phone apparently so I'm seeing if there's anything else that'll do that. Thanks.

How about, just putting those stuff in the "genre" field. If you do that, all music players can sort them.

Dunno if that'd work properly. Can most players filter by words within the genre, rather than the whole genre field? As each track has multiple tags.

If your tracks are tagged in the genre fields they will show up in music apps that can show genres . You're only meant to put one thing in the genre box, even if it's a name you made up yourself . If you can't decide what genre it is, make something up! The music will still be the same whatever you call it .

There's also tagging apps for android in case you forgot to tag at home.
