Any former iPad users? Browsing experience comparison

I have an iPad 1 but it's terrible for browsing. For what I do, it's important for me to open up multiple tabs and have the pages loading as I'm doing other things so I'm not just waiting for each page to load, then have to go back to the original page. For example, I would open a new tab for each thread on this forum that interests me, then read them all at once. With the iPad, only the active tab will load. As soon as I move to a different tab, the original tab stops loading.

Would the ASUS Transformer Prime solve this problem for me? With my work, I need to access information on the web quickly. I'm not just reading one news article at a time.

I know the obvious answer is to try one out but first I'm curious to see if th system even addresses this issue as a baseline feature. Thanks

Yep! I've used an iPad only briefly (2) and found the browsing experience adequate. What the Prime offers you is several browser options. The Chrome browser is nearly identical to the desktop version where all tabs load together, not one after the other. Only problem with it is there's no Flash support, but that's the same with the iPad.
I use Dolphin HD as my preferred browser and it has tabbed browsing (among other great additions) so that you can quickly switch and load between multiple pages.
The stock ICS browser does this just as well but it's not quite as slick or "desktop like" as Dolphin.
It you can find a Prime in stores (which I know is nearly impossible, but I have), give it a shot.

I'm swapping out my ipad2 for a transformer prime so I will update you when I get it.
I will be using dolphin Browser as I have on my galaxy S2.

I'd highly recommend Maxthon for 10" tablets. It is really fast, and flash works well with it. It also has multi-tab as a feature. Plus the ability to private browse as default.

It would be great if you could reply here with an update. Much appreciated, as this will likely determine whether I make the switch or not. :)

Agreed. My fiancee has the iPad 2 and when she saw my Prime she got jealous. It's faster, looks better and the ability to add the keyboard makes it an easy choice!

Alright, So I have the prime now.
The keyboard dock is awesome.
I'm not sure if I like the purplish tint of the color, but I'm sure it will grow on me.
I love this keyboard (I'm going to say it 1,000 times haha).
Browser wise... I'm using Dolphin HD instead of the OEM one and it is very smooth in every way.
Only time I really have an issue is using the trackpad to scroll (double finger like a mac). It works but it isn't very smooth, but if you scroll on the screen it is smooth and quick.
So far, after just using this thing for a day I love it.
I will put it through the ringer in the next week or so and give a good comparison against the iPad 2, so far I'm liking it more but there are some things that I am having some problems with, hopefully they get resolved.
I am having the Wi-Fi issue that most people talk about, the Wi-Fi works, but not as large of a range as my MacBook pro.
The Wi-Fi at my current living location isn't so great since it's in the main house and I live in the Guest house, but it worked in about 75% of the place on my MacBook pro and iPad, and only about 25% on my prime.
I will put the Wi-Fi to better test tomorrow at work though.
So far I'm satisfied, but like I said I will be putting it through the ringer and giving a better full comparison in a few days to a week.
Hope that helps your decision somewhat... God this keyboard is awesome.

@chash And that keyboard allows you to stay on the Prime pretty much all day long. That in and of itself makes it a must have accessory. I actually keep my keyboard attached most of the time. I lay in bed at night reading from my Kindle app, and rest the Prime on my chest hands free because of the keyboard dock.

I have the champagne colored Prime. One negative to the beautiful material is that it sratches very easy. I've got an inch long scratch on the back of my tablet side already.

Yes. I purchased mine used and it was said to be like new, but there are a few scratches on the back.
I'm currently looking for a skin like bestskinsever or invisible shield that not only can be applied on the tablet, but on the keyboard as well.
I do have one of the 3 fold folios coming for the tablet and the keyboard, should be here in the next couple days.
I've been using this thing for almost everything today at work, the only problem I'm having is my Citrix. I can connect, but when I try to open an application it doesn't open for some reason. I had the same issue with my iPad, iPhone and my Galaxy S2. I think it's a server side issue, but my IT guy states that he can access it on his android device no problem.
So I'm going to have to get the exact configuration settings.
So far I am loving this tablet!
