Any good Camera apps on the market? Possibly to upscale the recording

For some odd reason Sony decided to only let this phone record in 480p. The phone has a 5mega pixel camera and the power of the phone can easily handle recording in 720p. Why didnt they include it?

Anyway, my question is, does android market have a better camera app than the one installed ? Possibly to allow better recording resolution. Thanks.
 
I don't think its physically possible to make the camera become HD 720p, it will always have 480p.
Yea Sony Ericsson could've have easily included an 8MP HD camera, or even make the 5MP HD, but i think they didnt because they released two other new Xperias that focus on media (the Arc and Neo), which would render them useless if Xperia Play had everything they had.

anyways, im still waiting for a decent camera app that atleast allows to zoom.
 
I read somewhere that a future firmware update would enable 720p recording. I don't know if that was just a rumor though.
