Root Any 'gotchas' in Iced Glacier v1.2?

I wasn't happy reading about the inability to turn off GPS for photos in Nero v5. LINK

Are there any issues like that in un-themed Iced Glacier v1.2?

I-G is just a "stripped down" version of stock so if you can turn off Geo-tagging then you should be able to in I-G. side note where did you find I-G v1.2? newest one on XDA is v1.1.6

no problem, poster forgot a 1 (should have been 1.1.2) if you're wanting stay on the Espresso version of Sense (TMO's overlay on top of Sense) then you'll like I-G. when I was running it before switching to the Desire HD port (pure HTC Sense) speed-wise and stability-wise was like comparing a stock Mustang GT to the Mustang Shelby GT500.
personally I prefer the Desire HD ports because TMO wiped out ALOT of the HTC widgets, themes, skins and such.

edit : I know for sure you can turn off Geo-tagging in the Desire HD and Desire Z ports, main difference between HD and Z is the Z can go into Landscape mode while on the Home screen and the HD can't (just like our stock ROM and I-G)

both of the DHD ports are very fast and stable. main differences are eVil D's port comes with and Overclock kernel that is able to take processor to 1497Mhz where Gr8Gorilla's O/C kernel will let it go to 1708MHz (if your chipset can run that high, but I would recommend getting SetCPU for adjusting CPU speed either from market or from the developer on XDA), Gorilla's has a few different themes you can flash over over the ROM.
my personal setup is Gr8Gorilla's GorillaSense-DHD-MT4G-v2.2.4 ROM with tiger13's Gorilla Red Theme with the CPU set to 1497MHz for daily driver and 1708MHZ for showing off against DX, EVO and Galaxy S fanboys.
I am linking to the threads for each of the ROM's so you can read up on them and decide which you prefer

tiger13's theme just a theme gorilla's ROM must be flashed first, will only fully work on gorilla's
Gorilla's ROM
Teamsilence's ROM

Edit : one more nice thing about Pure Sense is no more butt ugly bubbles around your app icons, both on homescreen and in app drawer

Downloaded Gorilla's ROM from the link you posted. I think I got the wrong version though (2.2.3). Is it worth it to flash to 2.3?

I also got Set CPU from THIS link. Loaded it right on Gorilla's ROM. I don't notice any performance increase though. My Quadrant scores hover around 1800 with the CPU set at 1400 max 300 min. What do you set your min to?

You also mentioned that my chipset needs to be able to handle higher clock speeds. How do I find out if my chipset can handle higher speeds or not?

EDIT: For tiger13's theme, what's the difference between red13_desire_HD and Update_13.5_1.20?

I have mine set at 1497 max and 368 min with a screen off profile of 368 max and 245 min. To see what your phone can handle leave the set at boot bix unchecked and move it up run it for awhile and keep diung that till you start having lock ups then back it down to where it was stabile. Tiger's 13.5 I think has the vanilla style lockscreen instead of rhe Sense style. I'm running 2.2.3 so I don't know what changed for 2.3. My Quadrant 3 run average with my settings nets me 2057

Edit : when you open SetCPU you need to hit your menu button, select device, scroll down and tap auto detec speeds because 1400 and 300 aren't avalible on this kernel.

Thanks, I used your settings and added the screen off profile and my benchmark scores increased to 2085.

In your previous post you mentioned that you were running "Gr8Gorilla's GorillaSense-DHD-MT4G-v2.2.4 ROM with tiger13's Gorilla Red Theme." Did you mean to say v2.2.3?

Yeah, it's 2.2.3, typing on on phone with fat thumb and not proof reading

Edit : for even more like changing splashscreen and such you should check out xda 98% of the root based stuff is over there.

Thanks again for all the help RavenWulf. So far I'm enjoying my leaner, over-clocked, rooted MT4G. I've rolled back to stock Gorilla 2.2.3 though. The red theme removed some of the widgets I use. Didn't know the themes were that extensive.

As a side note. This whole process was a lot less painful than working with the old iPhone I had. What a great phone this is.

long press on screen to get the "personalize" screen to come up and tap "Browse all HTC widgets" you'll find one there along with a real nice Power dashboard (51/68)
they also have a stand alone but personally I don't like how it looks
