i recently bought a samsung galaxy legend which was recently released from verizon early this month. i have been trying to root this phone which is running jelly bean 4.1.2 for almost 4 days now with no luck. i have noticed that i have not been in debug mode this whole time... but heres the messed up part. the developer settings are enabled and debug mode IS checked, but when i connect to a pc the phone wont activate debug mode. i have tried everything i could think of including a factory reset in hopes that it may fix it. but it hasn't. i have tried multiple computers, multiple usb ports, multiple cables. nothing works. i have updated all the drivers. rebooted the phone. any ideas?

On my phone you need to go to Settings .. About phone then tap repeatedly on Build Number until you get a notification that says "You are now a developer". You then get additional options in setting that allow you turn on USB debugging.

Well I've tried everything I can think of. Tapping build number, tapping pretty much every inch of the screen. Found something weird by tapping the android version though. I've tried 3 different computers, 4 different cables. Nothing I do puts this phone into debug mode.
