If anyone knows how to fix this i would greatly appreciate it bc its very irritating...

So even since i have had my evo my sprint tv has always lagged and buffered all the time and youtube always says this video can not be played and ill have full data service and this was the same way on my moment so i chatted and asked them to refresh my services so that it could maybe work...

Well it doesn't and now i keep getting this white screen with a green HTC on it for a second and then it will go back to my main screen and say loading and then stop.It is very annoying and its always right after i exit and app or im doing something on my phone and then go back to main screen.

Anyone know how to get rid of this?

that sounds like you have low phone memory. the OS is stopping programs from running in the background so give you more RAM/phone memory.

i bet you have a wallpaper up huh? is it animated? doe you have any other launhcer app running?

are you rooted?

the above can all use ram/phone memory and if you are ow on memory (which it sounds like you are) then you will get this issue.

sprint tv and youtube are bandwidth intensive and also RAM intensive. if you are low on available phone memory those programs will suffer.

remove some apps, turn off live walpapers, move some apps to SD if possible....

I dont have a live wallpaper..I have a reg one and that is not the problem bc nothing was wrong the whole time i had it up until they refreshed my phone...I have 161 mb of mem on the phone available.I dont know if that is good or not.I also have an sd card if that matters..Sprint tv and youtube has never worked on the hero, moment or now the evo.

Try the solution that fixed the XM streaming in this thread and see if it helps you out:

The hard part will be getting your msl if you don't have root access but there are other ways to get it even if a sprint tech won't give it to you. Let us know if it helps.

For the problem you're having after the rfresh it sounds like you need to do a factory reset to clear things up.

sprint tv, youtube work 100% for me. just yesterday i was on the interstate and streaming a mix from a youtube video and was playing it in the car. i have also streamed sprint tv whilst on the road and had no issues. the key here is making sure you have adequate bandwidth because these are bandwidth intensive apps.

you say you have 161mb free well what apps are open when you saw this amount of free ram? if you have no running apps then you will have more free memory than if you have running apps so open up some apps then see what the memory is.

seeing the white htc screen means the OS is stopping the wallpaper process form running when you are using other apps so there is something on your handset thats making the OS think it needs to shut down the wallpaper process.

i also agree a factory reset maybe in order for you.

I see the white screen for a moment and then i see my wallpaper and a loading message over the wallpaper and then the icons show back up...now if i do the factory reset,is there an easier way to put all my apps back on rather than adding them one by one from the back up in astro file manager which is what i usually do.

What is rooting exactly and how would it benefit me?? Or my phone rather....

If none of the above works ..... Back up your phone apps and data. Go to a Sprint store. Show them the issue. Tell them you want it fixed or a new phone before you leave. You can also go to Sprint.com and try to get updates manually pushed to you that might be the problem.

This is probably a known issue that can be resolved.

This didnt start happening until they refreshed my data on the chat @ sprint.com....How would i get updates manually pushed to me,by talking to them? I already did that about 3-4 times already and it still fails to be fixed..

updating your profile over the phone, is basically updating your data profile on sprints back end. this will not cause you any issues that you are experiencing. these issues are locally based on the phone. its the result from low memory.

there is no need to take your phone into a sprint store. without us looking at your device its difficult to ascertain what could be going on however i think its an issue of low memory.

how many apps do you have installed?

try removing some unused apps and see if that helps.

if that does not help, then try the factory reset. all a sprint tech will do is go down a check list and then if those fail issue a factory reset on the device. so just stay home and not deal with the hassles of going there, etc..

clearly your NOT rooted :D but rooting enables you to remove apps that are "burned in" the flash rom and to also allow you to ADD apps into flash ROM. this can allow you to free up memory, remove junk apps, etc etc. this is risky if you are not familiar with rooting (its like "jailbreaking" an iphone/ipod) there is a sub forum on this evo forum dedicated to rooting.

I've jailbroken many devices so i know how it's done but i'm wondering how stable a rooted phone is and if i really wanna go through all that..I don't have a lot of apps on my phone and the ones i do have on there,i use all of them.I would like to get all the unnessesary app that sprint has on there offf.Is the rooting reversible??

you can re flash a stock ROM back to your device yes.

if you wanted to root, you can use one of the simple unrevooked methods to open the OS and then install a 3rd party rom that would have the features you like.

a major CON to this is you cant just grab the latest update from sprint or htc until your ROM cooker has gotten the update and installed it into their ROM.

for now try the factory reset if you dont want to uninstall apps. is also possible an app you have could have a memory leak, thus eating up precious RAM as its running..

Well i went ahead and did the factory reset and im still getting this screen and its rather annoying!! What should my next step be?

did you reinstall your apps and data after you did the factory reset?

meaning did you reinstall a backup onto your phone after this reset or is your phone "naked".... as in it has no user installed apps on it?

I took my phone to a tech and they replaced it..So i have a new one that is just a week old today and yesterday it started with the white screen again and i don't get it...There must be something causing it...

Also on the old phone that was replaced,i would type something such as text message or search on the internet and nothing would show up...I would be typing and no words come up and this one has done that once so far...

It all started with this white screen last time and it just got worse and worse with no words showing up and the white screen everytime i'm doing something and go back or i'm on a call and go back to the main screen...Then it loads and i have to wait for it to be done....

I don't know what to do at this point......................

Abt a quarter of what i had before....ex fml, nutty news, app brain market..stuff like that. I had this app that was called epic fail and it seemed that might of been the time i started getting this problem although it could he coincidental...so i got rid of it but no luck and i have antivius checking everything and its not detecting anything.....

It looks like you have everyone stumped by the lack of response here...

All I can say is to do a factory reset again and add your apps one at a time to see what's causing the problems. That's all I can think it might be.

Figures...I always have these problems with electronics either nobody can fix or doesnt know whats wrong...even tech support was like hmm never heard of that...I guess ill try your suggestion.
