Root any instructions to root a Mezmerize?

I just did it today, I downloaded z4root from XDA forums got a file app to search it on my phone and installed it. I ran it once and it froze went into a loop. I just rebooted the phone (No need to pull the battery) and ran it again. It then rooted the phone with no issues. I then ran Ryans lag fix v1 and it works fine.

Just scored 2242 on Quadrant!

I'm trying to run z4root again and I keep getting a "can't parse object" error. This is after multiple attempts to reboot after the loop. SuperOneClick also doesn't work for me.

I've given up.

Ran SuperOneClick yesterday, ran psneuter instead of rageagainstthecage. Ran perfectly this time. Did not install busybox, but it gave me root access. I rebooted my phone, ran titanium backup and used the utility in there to install busybox. All rooted up and no ROMs to wear!

Since I was borrowing a computer to root my Droid, I ended up rooting and installing the Voodoo kernel on the comp. owner's mesmerize, using the Newbie guide in post #21.

I was unable to get SuperOneClick to work, even after tryng both the rageagainstthecage and the psneuter exploit options.

I did get z4root to work on the second try, with the first locking the phone up forcing a battery pull to clear up.

I was kinda surprised there was voice updates during the install of the kernel. All in all, not too bad of a process, and the results are well worth the effort.

Edit: I believe there was a ROM posted in the Guide from XDA...

Yeah, a little bit of an update since my last post...
I have successfully flashed the leaked USCC 2.2 froyo from XDA. Now busy trying to figure out how to get voodoo kernel working. Haven't had any time to work on it, unfortunately. I like the new features of 2.2, but I would love to get the enhancements of voodoo and red cwm along with ea11. lag fix and better battery life, here I come!

If you don't have access to a Windows PC, you could probably get the job done in a virtual machine in VMWare or VirtualBox.
Just follow the instructions for PC, but inside a virtual machine within your Mac OS.

does anyone have a good link on how to room the mesmerize with a mac book

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S SCH I500 EI20 running 2.3.5 (Gingerbread?). I attempted to get root using SuperOneClick but kept hanging on "waiting for device". I further followed the steps listed at the unlockr.com which are;

Issue: It gets stuck on waiting for device…
Solutions: Try these solutions, starting with the first then retry, then the second and retry, and so on until it works.
1. Check to make sure USB debugging is checked on in Settings > Applications > Development.
2. Close the rooting program. Turn off your phone (keeping it still plugged in). Open the rooting program and click root. Then turn on your phone and see if it continues.
3. Close the program and unplug the phone. Download and install PDANet and follow it’s on screen directions to get it to install the drivers manually for your phone. Once it is done installing, plug the phone in and reopen the rooting program.
4. If that still doesn’t work, then go to our How To Setup ADB Procedure, finish it and return here to start over.

I followed all of these and still my phone remains stock. Disappointed and frustrated just now:(:mad:. Hints anybody? Please! :D

Cheers, Dan

Super One Click does not work with 2.3.5, Iirc.

Check out rootzwiki.com, I think they have root methods for gingerbread.

Thank you veddy much!

This from RootzWiki as listed under my phone.

(Windows)
1) Download the Samsung Showcase drivers 64bit - HERE & 32bit - HERE
2) Install the drivers for your computer (XP/Vista/win7)
3) Download, unzip and install the SuperOneClickRoot 1.7 HERE
4) Run the SuperOneClickRoot program after enabling USB debugging mode on your Samsung Showcase which is plugged into your USB port.
5) Your Showcase is rooted now.

Cheers, Dan
