Help Any known issues with this phone?

Anyone have had problems with this phone, aside from activation? I've had random freezes and restarts, only a few times but both times it was updating apps
 
I've had some issues with freeze ups, also, i was happy that this came stock with Swype, but when i click the talk to text button, it records my speech, then says processing, then just returns to the text field? So i gotta just swype. Anyone else have this problem?
 
Ps i got it on sale at the shack got $49, i needed an emergency replacement to get me by,and i gotta say,it feels a little cheep,but its not a bad little phone.
 
The three issues I have are freezes, reboots, and occasionally the wifi. It's a great phone but needs to get rooted ASAP and a custom ROM or kernel needs to be made seeing as these issues are caused during system lag or multiple activities.
 
I have the same problem, frequently.

My phone keeps rebooting and screen freezing all the time.


Does someone know in which can I get a suitable rooted resource >
 
Anyone having the issue with turning on wifi? Causing a freeze and a manual reboot to get the phone working again?

No roots as of yet, I'd try but I have minimal experience in root finding unfortunately.
 
Ive rooted this phone with the guide in the all things root section. It took me a couple of tries, but i was able to get it done. It was fairly easy :)


I didn't have any problems with rebooting prior to rooting nor now, however my phone does freeze a lot and seem to lag when I'm playing candy crush. I don't have that problem on my other phones while playing that game.

I along with many others tried that guide and got errors. No root. I tried 6 times.
 
I kept getting errors whenever i was in the poot app. I looked at a couple of posts in the other Kyocera phones root section, one mentioned having usb debugging enabled. I rebooted several times after getting the error messages, i then decided to download root checjer and barnacle Wi-Fi tether. Even though I still got an error message the root checker app showed I'd successfully rooted my event, i then tried the Wi-Fi tether and it worked.....that's my experiences..
 
I've had virtually no issues with this phone, only issue I've had is it will freeze on temple run, but thats because the game is intensive on the processor. no random reboots or anything along those lines, its been smooth sailing since I got the phone

(though I havnt activated it yet, still waiting for my current phone to expire)

The Wifi turning on and off by its self is caused by a system app called connection optimizer, if you have root just delete it and wifi will act normally. My event random reboots about twice a week. it's always happened at night and it doesn't wake me up as i'm a heavy sleeper (the only way I know it happened is No Frills CPU Notification telling be about an unclean shutdown) so it's not that big a deal. The main annoyance is occasionally when toggling wifi it freezes up and I need to pull the battery. Any one know how we can fix it or what causes it?

Can you tell me what apk you installed for your wifi tether, everything i have tried fails to either setup the bridge between data and adhoc or wont athenticate a user. as for the thread question, i have had this phone for 3ish months and it crashs atleast once every 2 days usually more.
 
I use WiFi tether treve mod that someone posted and it didn't work until I turned off the password now I connect to phones and my blu ray player with no problems. I tried candy crush and temple run and I don't get any lag when playing them but I also messed with my build.prop and end all process before starting to play games. For further reference don't mess with your build.prop unless you know what your doing. If you do make a back up of your build.prop.
 
Even though my phone is not activated, the only real problem I've had with locking up is when using Maps. If wifi is turned on and I'm scrolling across map fast sometimes it locks up.
One other problem I had was a couple weeks ago it would not recognize the SD card, where all my apps and music was at, so nothing worked. I done a hard reset and it finely started working but lost all apps, so now I save apps to phone.

i feel like it is on every android phone my boost mobile phone had to take and turn it off its really annoy and for people saying root takes it off no it doesn
