That's fair. But keep in mind something that we haven't really been told was to what extent they handle their devices. Another thing is when it comes to Android we can save you want something but in a month to something different or greater may be revealed in which case the waiting game becomes a little bit longer. If you see the device you want get it, and if anything you'll always have 14 days to give it back if you do it via carrier. Honestly, even though I thought the Note 7 was damn near the best device Samsung ever produced, the LG v20 makes me not miss it one bit. If anything the LG v20 seems more fluid to me than the Note 7

I was just telling my wife tonight that, although I do miss the Note7 (especially the S-Pen), I think I like the V20 more. The skin seems lighter, the battery is awesome, and I like the content creation tools that are baked in. It's a darned impressive phone.

sound quality on headphones/line output eclipses any other device I've tested. I sort of miss the pen a bit. It works on the LG just not all the extra samsung feature stuff I never used. I just wanted the button press to be eraser.
Otherwise - all other android apps can use the pen where you need it - or so it seems. I've thought about making some velcro holder if I just had to have it again.

Got my first one from Tmo October 26th: had to return because it overheated so badly, I was afraid it was going to do a full-on Note 7 on me. Got the 2nd (and hopefully last) one a few days later....not as bad at overheating as the original, but the heat is noticeable...even through the Poetic case and I'm afraid it is going to do the same thing. It is running the same apps as my V10 (which I loved and am now sorry I turned in) and the V10 never had a problem with them. I'm sorry to say that if this keeps up, I will probably keep it until the HTC 11 is released, although I hate to do so, as I prefer a removable battery, water resistant or not.

Wondering if anyone else has changed up the animations down to .5 like suggested in the Tips and Tricks article? Seems that it adds a extra drain to battery life, but I'm not certain. Just got mine yesterday so still downloading/optimizing settings to my preference so I can't tell if it's having extra drain by speeding things up. My only "complaint" is that it's damned hard to reach for stuff. I came from an N5, and this is the biggest phone I've ever had, and I've never had a phablet. Not really a complaint, but damn this is taking getting used to!

I think this should have been in the pros, cons, first thoughts thread, but Oh well.
So far i am pleased. I came from an S5, with an S4 active before that. I, like many, wanted to go with the Note 7, but we all know how that went. I like the responsiveness. Screen is clear even though it is not an AMOLED. I have no complaints with the clarity(not a snob, though). I fly for a living and flight apps are large when you download maps, charts and approach plates. They also do not allow for transferring to external memory, so having a 64 GB internal capacity helps a lot.
My main complaint is that I really liked the hands free mode on my S5 for when I was connected to the Sena bluetooth communicator on my motorcycle helmet. It gave me full voice commands for phone, text, navigation and music. I could say call John Smith and it would dial the number. Text Dana, and it would ask me what I wanted to write. The V20 seems to want to use google for everything and will not let me make texts via voice while connected. I got rid of the google play music on start up and have rocket player start when BT is connected. As for texts, it asked me to unlock the screen and open the app. Hard to do when the phone is in my pocket and I am doing 75 on the interstate. I am searching for an option to fix this, whether it be an app or native. It also tries to use Google to make phone calls. Not my contacts. It called some unknown 1-800 customer service number on me twice when I tried calling my wife. Again, I'll try an app to see if I can get around this. I will say that is is much clearer to listen to through the BT headset than the S5 was. Edit already, I have gotten it to read a text and make a call from my contacts, but it does not read me the text when I receive it or tell who it came from. Just a notification ding. I have to tell it to read the text, but I have to know who it came from. This doesn't work for me since I am on call a lot for work and get my notifications via text. I'll update as I learn more. Could just be user error

I rode for 5 hours of straight rain through France a couple years ago without any worries about my S4 active having any issues(and it didn't). The V20 on the other hand will need something to help it out. I have a Poetic case on order, but I think I will need one of those waterproof baggie things. I could have gone with an S7 or S7 Edge, but the 32GB internal memory turned me off.
Battery life is nice. It was at full charge last night when I unplugged it to take upstairs to bed. It was still at 100% when I checked it at 0730 in the morning. It was only down 2% an hour or two later after an FB check and a few other tasks. I have been using it on and off throughout the day and am now at 46% at 6:24 PM.
Calls have been clear. This is a smart phone that actually works as a phone. I did download a ringtone app to get some better ringtones. I really don't care for the LG options for them or for notifications.
Photos are pretty sharp. I haven't had a chance to really play with the camera yet. I did notice some curving around the edges on the wide angle lens. Similar to what a GoPro does. I'll get some sunrise pictures tomorrow to see how the low light capabilities are and then more daytime shots over the weekend to test it even more.
Double tap to open is very nice. Especially since I leave it sitting face up on my desk and the power button is on the back. No picking it up to see if I want to give my attention to the texts I receive. And you can double tap on an open place on the screen to shut it back down.
When I come up with more discoveries, I'll let you all know.

My HTC had two taps to wake, but I never used it- you kind of had to thump it to make it work. The LG just fires right up. The fingerprint reader is awesome too - the feature I didn't know I wanted and love for passwords etc.

Im going to catch some heat for this, for sure. But my first V20 was a lemon.
The vibration on the phone work for about 5 days flawlessly.
After 5 days it was intermittently working.
Buy day 7 it stopped all together.
Called up my carrier and they did a instore swap at no charge.

there are infant mortality issues with all manufacturing devices other than some things that are 100% line tested and that's really expensive.
So not surprising - more surprising is the response from your carrier store. Good on them.

I haven't looked for this on the LG but on my note 3 there was a "one hand" mode - that reoriented your home screen pieces (and others) such as to make it easier to one hand - either left or right.
I assume either other launchers do this too - or perhaps there is an baked in app for that. but I suspect there is a way. I have girthy hands so I have few issues with it - other than the second screen buttons - those always give me trouble.

So far so good. The only issues I had were at first WiFi calling wasn't working but easy fix. Although e911 (that's required) was setup in the TM App I still needed to run the app to get it to work. Then finger print setup to open the phone was a bit picky. But OK after a few deletes and adds. I only wish it was waterproof and had wireless charging. But I can live without them. Gotta love LG keeping the access to swap a battery! It takes great pictures and even better with changing manual settings! As far as everything else it's a great phone!
I'm thinking I'm going to wait a little longer and see what emerges over the next couple of weeks... I'm still lusting, but the camera-glass issue does worry me a bit (I know, I know, it's only a few users, but that seems to me to be a few too manY0, and after two replacements/factory resets in recent months (one an uh-oh replacement after I dropped the m9, one a toasted ROM after the OTA Tmo update fried it) and the attendant hassle of switching handsets, I'm not anxious to do it more than once more.
So, still in wait and watch (and lust!) mode....

I got mine about 10 days ago, coming from Note 7 to S7 to LG V20. I had no issues (other than getting use to the differences between Samsung and LG -also I hate the emojis) for the first few days, then the screen started freezing. It happened once a day for a few days. Today it happened over 15 times (I have to open the back cover and take the battery out, then restart). Taking mine back tomorrow.
My second day mine froze up a couple of time and I figured out that it was the REALTOR.COM app from the play store. Hasn't happened since I deleted it. Also have only restarted my phone once in the last 3 weeks(since i bought it).

Was reported by JerryRigEverything that the rear camera screen screen cracking/shattering happened, and caught on his video, was when the film covering it was removed. He recommended keeping it on...

Cons:
1) The LG V20 gets finicky with the Keyboard if you swipe too fast. It simply won't work or you'll notice it stops...
Same happens with SwiftKey, and I might note SwiftKey has the quirky "m" key hold issue if you don't hold it long enough it uses the alt function
2) Screen brightness gets low, even in auto brightness, when reading sometimes and doesn't adjust... There also is no function to keep the screen on when reading... Call this being spoiled with the Note 7 (RIP)
3) Since the second update VS99512A, I've noticed on occasion that key strokes of the 2nd display not working at times, as well as the bottom passive keys, the ones that disappear, weren't responding at all? Only work around was using the power button to power save and hit the power button again to wake up and it would work... This has been intermittent...
4) I call it a design issue to have a rear facing camera that sticks out and just cries for the right moment to get smacked against something... lol
5) The power/fingerprint scanner being on the bottom side because you have to pick up the phone every time to turn it on. There are times when this isn't practical and you wish you had a side power button with the finger print scanner on top
On the upside, the DACC is Awesome! Especially when played in a good car sound system and plugged in...
6) The "Do not disturb" function isn't as practical as they make it to be... Its all or nothing on the contacts selection, as you can't select who you want...
