any new sliders (physical keyboards) in the works

Sorry, really need one of these. Had the droid 1, and am on a droid 2.

My phone is crapping out, I can probably keep it going a bit longer.

I would like to get LTE for a future phone.

The droid 4 is great except the battery is not replaceable, which to me is a fail since I always get an extended battery and use that.

The stratosphere was old when it came out last year, it seems worthless to use my upgrade and have to keep that for 2 years.

I have not heard any plans or rumors for a new slider phone from vzw, does anybody know differently? thanks.

There aren't many sliders available. Most of the new smartphones are not sliders and it appears they're even taking a page from the iPhone book and leaning towards not having removable batteries.

Myself, I prefer a romovable battery just for the very reason you state. But, what's our choice?

Best of luck to all of us,

The S3... :D
Sorry couldn't resist.

I was worried about no physical keyboard before I got the DX, but very rarely do I miss it now.

when i need to just type a quick response, i do it on the virtual kybd.

But if i really need to write a 3 paragraph response, it is so much easier on a real keyboard. when making edits, having arrow keys makes life easier as well.

For text, twitter, etc, no big deal. But I use my phone to respond to proposals and to get details, having real keyboard, with num keys as well makes all the diff.

I'll be honest, my wife felt the same way as you, but I challenged her to a typing contest, and beat her pretty good, even though on a PC she can kill me. The key is to find a good virtual keyboard. I use swiftkey X and love it, and can type way faster than on a physical keyboard, and still be just as accurate. She is finally considering going to a screen-only device with her next upgrade... Which is good because I am afraid the PK phones are going the way of the dodo.
