Any one else in boston area? getting 4G

I got 4g on route 9 east on the southboro/framingham line. It was very spotty, but with 4 bars I got between 6.5-8.75 mbs down!! I got off at the Framingham State exit and 4g went away. About an hour later 4g was no where to be found on route 9 west headed back to southboro. I know wimax is spotty but I dont think its that spotty. In any case its good to know what 4g is making its way to 495.

Was in the Norwood, on route 1, a very strong signal, speeds of 6 mbps, Canton Center also has 4G - weak but present.

It seems like it is coming .....soon.

First time poster, long time lurker.

Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents in - No 4G in Fort Hill this evening... but it is Roxbury we're talking about.

Have scene it click on several times near Back Bay Station. Saw a guy in a Clearwire truck not too long ago and he said they'd announce coverage in October. Not the best source - but still good news.

I got a connection at 1pm in burlington, but it kept cutting out. I assume this is because they are still testing.

I picked up my Evo at the Burlington Sprint store (next to the old EMS). They told me that there would be a 4G tower in Burlington, which is good news. I think we can expect stable 4G service in October; that is when they said the official date would be. The people I talked to in the store actually had a clue, so I'm taking their word for it.

This 4g signal here in Burlington has been much stronger the past few days. Today I was able to run some speed tests
3.80mb down .97mb up
6.02mb down .84 mb up
4.81mb down .99mb up

Great speeds if you ask me.

I also got a note for us to go live with 4g around Sept 27th. Not too far off.

I was in lowell today. Got 1 out of 3 bars of 4G. 6.5 mbps down, 0.5 mbps up.

My phone has officially lost its 4G virginity.

yay

Any news on any areas south of Boston getting 4G this year? Or is it greater Boston only?

I haven't seen any announcements on what coverage area to expect by the end of the year.

My wife said she got a 4G signal available 1 day last week at Patriot Place. Have not got it again since?

4G at Fenway at last night - my first experience with it.

5.35 Mb down, 0.94 Mb up.

I have to say my phone got really hot while it was on and the battery drain was unbelievable. I don't have any problems with 3G and might have to stick with it if 4G is ever rolled out in my area.

Its 3:15am and I just had my phone twice say that 4G was available but but it took about 4 mins for it to connect!! Im in Lynn, near the Swampscott line on Lewis street.:o

OK my speeds are 3141 download, and 766 upload. 2min later, 5543 download, 968 upload. Yup it works.
BTW how did you get the screen shot of your phone?

Sweet. Sprint has announced that effective Sept 1, 2010 (last week from this post), 4G is live in Boston. So if you get 4G around Boston, this is now to be expected.

However, there are still lots of areas that should have 4G but don't; for example, Waltham. Maybe I'm in the wrong corner of town, but I would have expected better metro-area coverage. Hopefully they're still expanding their 4G coverage here.

I was at Microcenter where Clear reps were in the store, Boston is live, centering around 90 and 95 , but they are still expanding. I live in Stoughton which is still 3g.

I have full 4G signal outdoors at my home in Haverhill, MA.

Problem is, the minute I walk inside of any building, it immediately disconnects.

What good is it if it doesn't work indoors, especially if you were planning on using it as a hot spot device?

I also have a strong 4g outside of the building where I work in Burlington and can't even connect to it indoors.
