it seems that most people have been having issues after the update to jelly bean, for me it was really slow, some times it would freeze. anyone have had any good results. im just not sure its worth updating

Well, I don't want to be "that guy", but I have not had any problems that persisted. It works great, and I'm not having the unresponsive lock screen. I had some trouble with the initial GPS lock on after the update the day that I updated it a couple weeks ago now, but now that it has locked on once (had to let it sit still for a very long time) it locks on right away. I leave my phone on 24/7. I'm still using Google Now too.

I'm going to be "that girl". Now that I've done the freezing screen fix I've been able to turn the lock screen back on and my problems are solved. It's much smoother than ICS, and my GPS is much better than it was, both for speed in finding signal and number of sats. The battery problems aren't gone but I run a lot of stuff, and I think Greenify has helped significantly. I'm very, very pleased.
sheureka, did you receive the OTA JB update or did you flash one of the JB roms? I've been using zjones' rom and I've had nothing but problems particularly with the GPS. Yes, I could achieve GPS lock with it but it would randomly drop fix and not grabbed it again or just not lock at all. The unresponsive touchscreen wasn't really a big issue once I disabled some things. The GPS was the real issue I had.
Umm.... I had exactly the same experience, other than "random unrepsonsive and GPS not holding fix", everything is fine. Interesting.
And I am also on stock ROM and not even rooted, OTA upgrade. And the gps dropped its lock, had to reboot to get it relock, albeit only happened once. Will start to 'moan' if happens more often

Jelly Bean did seem a little laggy with the stock update. In order to get any real speed with it like I had with my stock rooted ICS I had to: Root and remove most of Google apps (except for Google Now, Google Play, and Google Play Services) and Samsung apps using Titanium Backup, flashed touch CWM recovery, flashed 1600 Mhz kernel, and flashed Beats and installed Apollo (just because). I ended up installing CPU Tuner so that I could set my CPU profiles. I found that it broke FoxFi, so I installed WiFi Tether for root with TrevE Mod. Upon doing all of this I now have 1.4GB free on the device. It uses a little less RAM. My audio quality is a little better. Obviously it processes information faster with the over-clocked kernel. In fact this is probably the fastest single-core Android device that I have ever used. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with Jelly Bean (well now I am). I really don't understand why they didn't update to 4.2, but that's OK. The cons: I do seem to have slightly less of a signal since the update. Every time I try to clear my Dalvik cache I get a strange extSD error. It fails to connect to some public WiFi that it previously connected to with ICS. Sometimes the CPU governors don't catch us they should to extend battery life when unplugged, so needless to say with this kernel sometimes battery life is significantly less. Honestly though I haven't met an Android yet that I didn't have to keep on life support to some degree.
