Any problems with magnetic cases?

Haven't found any posts regarding the evo 3d in particular and magnetic cases, so I was just wondering whether cases with a small magnet closure system could possibly harm the phone/memory/battery in any way? I know these are really weak magnets we're talking about, but buying the case will mean the evo 3d will be exposed to the magnet pretty much 24/7, so I wan't to be sure and on the safe side :) thanks for any help

Good post. Ive not heard of anything.

i smoked over the EVO 4G forum and didnt immediately see any issues.

here is a post for reference:

HTC Evo's have a capacitive screen, which works by detecting disturbances in a electrostatic field (here is a write up I did on PPC Geeks PPCGeeks - View Single Post - Capacitive Screen vs Resistive Screen)

Theoretically a magnet could also disturb the electrostatic field and change the "capacitance" readings. Meaning, the phone screen will think you are interacting with it when in reality it is a magnet in close proximity. If you just power off the screen before placing in said holster, there should be no issue.

I believe that magnets are the basis for the new Capacitive stylus that are being made.

I've never had a problem with magnetic cases on either of my EVO s...

hi everyone , i got my new htc evo3d along with a leather case , the thing is my new leather case is having a magnet on the top of it, is a vertical leather case , so the question is : is this magnet will damage my evo3d lcd screen or not?

thanks in advance...:)

I used one of those as well for my EVO 3D and now my Epic Touch. Never had any issues with the magnet at all.

I have a magnetic case and when I leave in the morning about 7:30am my phone is redlining on the battery by 3:00PM. I tried it without the case and I'm at almost full power. So my EVO 3d definitely has issues with a magnet.
