I got a photon 4g...Not rooted. I want to get CM 7 on it. I found out that u can flash cwm without root using odin or fastboot...Now is this safe??? Or will it Softbrick or Hardbrick my phone???

With rooting, there is always a "risk" involved when flashing anything. Making sure you have the proper files and a good download of those files is a good way to help ensure you will not have any problems.

On our forums, we have a guide available here: http://androidforums.com/photon-4g-...-roms-kernels-themes-11-videos-9-28-11-a.html that even includes a video tutorial on flashing CWM to your device.

If you are up for more reading you can also browse through http://androidforums.com/photon-4g-...motorola-photon-4g-all-things-root-guide.html where I took this guide from.

I don't personally have your device but if you would like to have further discussion about rooting this specific device with other members who have the same device, you may consider signing up and asking some questions in Photon 4G - All Things Root - Android Forums as you will be able to get more specific help there!
