Root Any ROMS compatable with ZVB or do I need to unroot and upgrade?

hey its been awhile since i rooted a phone I just rooted my lg esteem which is running ZVB and wondering about the whole flashing thing and adding a new rom was wondering anything compatable with my current ZVB or must I really unroot it( still wondering how) and update to ZVD to get the best perks of this community

Just use the lg tool and upgrade and re root
 
oh btw what i usaully use to back up things is my backup pro did you mean like that or through clockworkmod because I tried that earlier and I clicked on backup and instead it did something and then it said flashing and I stopped it before it did anything though when it was requesting access

When I had ZVB this is exactly what I did and worked perfectly for me.

1. Backed up all my apps & data with titanium backup just in case.

2. I went to this link and followed the steps to update to ZVD.
When update finished I still had all my previous apps and data.

3. Then I went to this link and re-rooted.

thanks alot after my stuff gets done backing up I will attempt this thank you guys for helping me with this I feel so lost with the times these days hopefully the root wont get in the way of the update
