Help Any streaming music tweaks/fixes?

Ok one of the main things I use phone for is to stream music, Slacker, Jango.

Lately have been having problems with both of them. I can see that they do not down load the entire song. When it reaches the end of what it down loaded, it skips to the next song. In Slacker this uses one of my 6 skips.

Now, when this is happening, I see that i am on 3G, and that I have several bars signal strength. Slackers customer support tells me it is a connection issue on my end.

Are there any tweaks I can try to make my connection better? Or fix this problem in general?

I figure this is a long shot, but what the heck.

I have tried: setting audio quality to lowest. called *228 did #2 thing.

So any thoughts?

Not rooted, 2.2. I know they have a custom ROM for everything, do they one for this? (Might just be the push I need to root)

I actually have no idea. I am assuming it does, and they are right that my connection could be better, which is why I am looking for anything I can do to get a better connection.

Only thing you can do to improve reception is to use a network extender at home.
