Help Any way to boost headphone output without root access?

Hi there everyone,

On HTC Incredible running 2.2

I found some older content concerning Audioboost 2 and Volume Boost by Kibohely, and neither seems to work on my phone.

I'm wondering if there's a way to boost the headphone jack's output without rooting the phone. I don't mind paying for an app, I would just like to be relatively sure that it's going to work with my phone before making any changes.

Thanks in advance for your time!

well some music players play louder than others especially if they have equalisers, you just turn everything to full, but I don't think you can change the software without root

Thanks very much to the both of you for your assistance.

My media volume is indeed maxed out, although I didn't know you could control it there. I had just been altering it from the volume control button on the side of the phone while listening.

I'll sit on my thumbs a bit to see if something comes out that allows me to control the volume without rooting the phone. "Volume Boost" claims to do it, but my phone isn't listed as a compatible make/model.

Thanks very much for the suggestion, but I can't change media players(I use AudioGalaxy) so instead need a method of boosting the output.

Thats a shame. PowerAmp will definitely increase your sound output on the headphones and speaker. Check the PreAmp settings for the headphone option.

I have one other thought that nobody else has suggested. Have you considered changing headsets? I have two different sets of headsets that I've used through the years. Both are Sony brand... one over the ear and the other buds. Neither are top end but adequate headsets. I just checked, out of curiosity, and both just about blow my head off using the stock player with media turned to the max. Using different headsets and phones through the years I have found they are not all created equal. Just a thought

I'm using HTC Incredible S, and I've had the same problem since i bought the phone. After weeks of researching forums for possible solutions, and after downloading so many apps and even buying some of them...I came across the app named Equalizer. I downloaded it and I chose the option to Customize. When I set all the bars to its maximum level, I was prompted to buy the thing, so I bought for around 2 dollars...and amazingly it works! I didn't have to cover one of my ears when I try to watch a movie on the train! :) Hope this helps...
