Help Any way to have the soft buttons turn off during movies?

Sup all,

During video playback the four soft buttons down the bottom of the phone (back, menu, home and search) stay lit up which is rather annoying.

Is there any way to have them turn off by default? Is there something I'm missing?

LEDs Hack will allow you to do that. You need root.

I haven't been able to get root (through no lack of trying).

It seems I have a Spanish Milestone and RSDLite won' allow me to drop it back to 2.01 (as it came with 2.1 out of the box). It gives me a error along the lines of:

"phone is not compatible with multi-interface super-file" and then fails.

You can root the 2.1 using 2.0.1 recovery. Search the forum and the net for instructions.

Root is available for 2.1
