Different phone manufacturers may put the carrier name in their stock ROM, or not, or may give you the option to turn on or off. The ZMax Pro does put the carrier name automatically, and does not give you an option to turn it off currently. The above video is currently the only way I have seen to remove it, but the app used in the video gave me many issues (ad pop ups out of nowhere, lock screen issues) when using it, so I have just left the stock carrier name. After a while, it doesn't bother me anymore, and it helps me know when I am actually in service with the phone (I live in spotty LTE coverage).

True.. it will change your drop down menu.. but it Won't if you switch this app on and simply don't reboot.. just turn it off and reboot if you need to..
