Root Any way to remove a mod?

rsarno

Thank Me, Im Irish!
I installed bonestock rom, and then applied the smooth app scroll mod.

I dont like it at all, its just not smooth. Can i just uninstall that mod?

I'm still learning about customer ROMs myself. But, I don't think mods can be "uninstalled" because they are overwriting certain system files. You would most likely have to get with the ROM developer and see if they can make you a flashable ZIP file to undo the mod. Or, find out what system files were replaced to replace them manually.

Whenever I install a mod I do a nandroid backup first. That way if I don't like the mod I can restore my backup to bring the phone back to the way it was before the mod.

If this is true, maybe flashing the same ROM over again without any wipe, would re-overwrite those files thus undoing the mod's damage.

Would this make sense?

Yeah, I don't see why that wouldn't work. If you start seeing strange errors or FC you may then need to wipe and reinstall. Your best bet is always a nandroid though if you made one.

I installed Go Launcher and it has gotten me out of the whacky app draw for now. Now i just have to get used to this one lol

I would suggest before installing any mod, do a nandroid backup first. Then if you don't like the mod, you can simply restore your backup and everything will be just as it was before you tired the mod.

Unfortunately that ROM as well as a few others include a wipe in the install script. Otherwise flashing the original zip should restore the original system files. I use this method often.
