Help Any way to remove buttons row from notification panel?

Thanks to Nova Launcher I have gotten my S5 simplified to be more like pure Android. The only problem I still have (that I've found) is the huge row of 'buttons' on the top of the Notification Panel. When I pull down the panel in landscape, there is hardly any room to view my notifications.

I'm guessing it can't be done without rooting the phone. Will we ever be able to root S5 on Verizon?

i would like to know myself also. Most of the features I don't even need them.

Go to Settings > Notification Panel Then just remove everything from the Active section.

It says it can't remove any more - "minimum of 5 buttons reached"...

Pretty sure you can't and that person was just wrong.

Ah, sorry, I reduced mine down to five that way, hadn't realized that was the minimum - seemed like an obvious solution and it hadn't been mentioned as a failed attempt.
