Help Any way to sync google calendar via usb?

The latest problem my Dad is having with his phone is that Google Calendar is not syncing right. We spent hours on the phone and I finally got through that he needs to make sure he's not using the my calendar and using his Google account.

But, we just can't figure out how to get it to sync reliably. It'll work for awhile and then it doesn't. We clear the cache, uninstall and re install, we haven't done a recovery because the problem started day one of having the phone. He'll put an event on the computer and it doesn't show up on the phone and vise versa. We both have been through countless forums and countless threads and have tried countless fixes that just don't work! It seems to be a VERY common problem for something that is as basic as the phone being able to make calls and not a single answer has been found. We've pretty much given up on making it work. I've told him to just make the appointments on the phone and forget about doing it on the computer and syncing to the phone, but it shouldn't have to be like that.

What I'd like to know is if there is a way of syncing the Google calendar via USB?

Or is there a calendar app that can be installed on the phone that has a sister program that can be installed on the PC and they sync via USB?

You can run the Google calendar (the one on the Google site) in Thunderbird with a few addons (free). That should keep you in sync between the phone and the computer.

My family has converted to Cozi. An app on the phone and a website on the computer. Everyone knows what everyone is doing at all times. (3 households, three kids between 2 of them, loads of pets, changing job shifts, etc. No problems.)
