Help Anybody got a slow gps??? I do.

It looks as if there is a gps bug in the galaxy s phones. I have noticed that it can take up to five minutes for my gps to lock on. there is an app in the market called "gps status". There is a tool in the app to clear he gps cache. This makes the "lock on" almost instant. Just to let everybody know.

It isn't always the GPS cache that can make it "slow" to lock in.

If you turn off your GPS and then move a significant distance away from the location where it turned off, when you turn it on again, the GPS will need a little time to reacquire the satellites.

I have a handheld Garmin I use for hiking, it has the same issue if I turn it off during transport.

Nice tip on the gps cache, I'll try that out.

If you haven't noticed the slowness of the gps on this phone... Pick up the htc desire and use the gps on it. Lightning fast! These things are just slow from the factory. That app works wonders though.
