Help Anyone else have this just happen?

I just replaced my sim because of some bs verizon nightshift told me and not sure if it could have caused my prob or not. About an hour or 2 ago 3-3:30 central, about 6 or so apps just updated themselves that came preinstalled but I had never used or activated even. I have all my settings right and have talked to verizon but no answers. I did notice there are many apps in the market I havent noticed before so possibly that?? or maybe just coincidence and is just a glitch? Any help would be appreciated thanks

I had that happen a few hours ago too, didn't think much of it though.

apps can be set to auto update or update manually.
 
Happend to me last night. It also Happened on my wifes Droid X. I switched them all to manual and tried to uninstall but no luck we are stuck keeping the bloatware updated and wasting our app storage space.
 
Glad to hear it wasnt just me but kinda sucks its being forced. If they are going to start forcing apps, we need the option to remove it. A pipe dream I know lol.
 
It happened to me too, which is a good thing. For some reason, the preinstalled applications that came with the phone hadn't been showing updates in the market unless you manually opened up the application in the marketplace, saw the update button on your own, and hit update.

It seems this issue might be fixed now.
 
i thought i had set all my apps to manual update, but all these auto updated yesterday and i haven't received a gmail since! i have to go into the gmail app and select refresh from the menu to get new emails on the phone. i wish i knew which one caused the problem cause i'd unstall the update. anyone got any good ideas?

I had the same problem yesterday.

I went into the Market App and selected each one of the Apps I had installed. I manually turned off the automatic update option on nine of them. To my knowledge I never set that option on any App.

Yep, it happened to me too yesterday. Thought I had a crazy virus or something.

Here's what I did afterwords:

1. I went into the Marketplace and found each app (many were in the Verizon section). I then REMOVED THE CHECKMARK for automatically updating that Bloatware (that I never "checkedmarked" in the first place). I did the same for any other "installed" Verizon apps I saw there that hasn't updated yet.

2. Then, from my homescreen, I went into "Manage Apps". I found each one of those little bloaty bast@rds and I UNINSTALLED THE UPDATES that were forced on me.
 
I am rooted and my apps autoinstalled themselves. That was after I went into Titanium Backup to make sure they were all unchecked. After installation they seemed to autocheck themselves for auto update.

Have you checked to make sure you're Gmail wasn't autosyncing? I had that issue before and I went to my account and checked to see if it was syncing. Apparently it got unchecked somehow. I checked it and hadn't had a problem since. That was with my OG Droid.

I still have too long with my contract being grandfathered into the unlimited data to risk it and void my warranty. My GMail is set to manually refresh as well. It seemed odd it came right around the time google beat that case and that it was several google apps that updated. My main e mail account has been turned into the universal one now on all my contacts any way. Oh well, they will do what they do I guess. Lots of rebooting lately and the phone randomly turning itself back on as well. I turn the phone off and a few later its popping on again lol. May have to suck it up and go back to Sprint. I hear that they are getting LTE next year but I doubt it will be any different with them aside from a lower bill
