I have had continuous lock ups and crashing from Gmail and Chrome browser for months, sometimes multiple times per day. I finally did a factory reset, and although it's only been two days I haven't had a crash. So far so good....
A reset does resolve the majority of issues. But I find Gmail will still crash, maybe once every few days as apposed to constant crashing. Still its not like Google give a shit about its unstable software.
