Help Anyone else having RAM problems?

Only reason I ask is because I seen that this phone has 512 MB of ram, yet I can only pass 180mb when I first boot. As time goes on, it goes down so bad. A lot of the time, I only have around 60mb and have to use a task killer. Even then, I only get up to 170mb. Is this normal?

Yea its pretty normal. I use Fast Reboot Pro to keep ram free. Have it set to "fast reboot" when I turn the screen off and when I turn it on. Works pretty good

Thanks for the info, and moving my thread where it belongs. So, I am guessing Advanced Task Killer Pro won't work that well giving me better performance? Some games lag real, real bad. Like, GTA 3 for example. It just lags and crashes so much, yet I've seen people say they play it with no problems. I also lag pretty bad after browsing the web for some time, and have to task kill everything again.

Long story short, should I invest something like Fast Reboot Pro like you suggested instead of Task Killer?

I've had problems with mine as well. It randomly reboots, assuming because of low ram, Swype works erratically and the screen can be extremely slow to respond. I'm trading it for a Connect tomorrow.

I suggest you to get Gemini app manager and start disabling every app that tends autoruns...

Just the stock apps that come preinstalled. And some from the market and Amazon appstore.

my esteem never goes down below 75 ram but it also never goes above 160 ram so im guessing its pretty normal, i also use advanced task killer and set a timer to kill all apps every 15 mins. it seems to make my phone less laggy

(trying to decide which ones are useful for me individually)

I also use Advanced Task Killer, to free up RAM. When I had my Huawei Ascend, people was saying it was bad for the phone. So I uninstalled. But I've been using ATK for about 2-3 weeks, on my Esteem, and its still running great.
