i think its cool that slacker comes bundled w/ the sensation

i've been a fan of slacker for years now - its getting better and better over time

i like it because its kinda like radio - hands off (thus the name - "slacker")

pandora has a really "minimalist" approach - where as slacker is definitely a more "busy" interface, to be sure --- i like that you can be more "hands on" and you can customize more with slacker

also, pandora had some controversy a while back - there was word they were doing something creepy/suspicious w/ user data so i uninstalled it and never looked back

but yeah.. i really like slacker

also.. i've got this setup in my car where i plug in a 3.5mm cable to a little FM transmitter so i get whatever music is playing on my phone piped out to the speakers in my car

nice

this little system of mine works for google's music beta, iheartradio, the fm tuner that comes w/ the phone, slacker, winamp, TuneIn Radio... anything - if its music, and it can output to the earphone jack, you can get it in the speakers in your car!

anyone else out there like slacker??

I knew of Slacker for a few years but didn't really use it alot. I had Sirius radio in my car and on my phone forever. Recently i just got tired of Sirius fees and their music lineup. I tried SLacker in my car, and holy crap, it's awesome! Sounds great and theres more variety than Sirius. I listen to classic rock and more folk rock like Simon and Garfunkel, and 90s music. Slacker had tons more channels for these genre!

Cancelled Sirius, and I'm all about Slacker now. Oh yeah, I like spa music like Soundscapes and native american flutes. Slacker delivers.

FREE! I may subscribe though because it is cheap and worth It.

thats cool you may subscribe - i'm definitely not opposed to paying for services i use (you should see the apps i've downloaded! haha!)

but the music industry is so turbulent right now - its hard to say which one will win out

and, just to be honest... i like the radio too!

so i'm sticking with the free option for the time being - maybe i'll buy a song here or there to support the service (i will purchase songs from amazon through shazam from time to time.. just to make sure it stays free)
:)

Yeah, free is the best. Actually the commercials on Slacker are not even a big deal. They don't bother me at all. I won a free 3 month subscription to Slacker once and I did really like the channel caching option.
