Anyone else notice Evo's Swype keyboard is pretty inacurate

My last phone (LG Optimus Elite) was my first phone with Swype and it actually worked extremely well. Now I upgraded to the Evo which I believe has Swype (I'm not sure if its the same branded software but it uses the same swiping concept) and its no where near as good as the Elite's. Nearly ever word I enter is wrong. I wonder why?

The default htc keyboard sucks.
Download Swype beta, it works beautifully.

Swiftkey is the way to go, I only payed $0.10 for it a while back :)

$0.10? I thought apps had a minimum price of $0.99. Or is that only on the iPhone?

Google was having a special promotion. A number of apps were just a dime. Perhaps it was when they marked the 10 millionth app being downloaded or sold.

The ICS keyboard for all HTC devices has the Swype-ish feature but it doesn't work very well in comparison to the keyboards mentioned in this thread. I have multiple devices and like Swype on them. Slide-it is rather nice also. For the predictive typing keyboard nothing comes close to SwiftKey IMHO.

Yeah, I've tried it out too, and I immediately downloaded a regular ICS keyboard from the Play Store. SlideIT is my favorite swipe keyboard, I got it for 10 cents when they had the 10th billion app download sales

I have a few different keyboards, but I always end up going back to Swype on my phones. But with Swype Beta, the Dragon dictation doesn't work for me, which is annoying because I use voice to text if I'm busy or in a rush sometimes. Can't figure out why. Also, there is some bug now with swyping from the question mark to the space. It comes out as mm. or m. or odd words.

I have tried all those kbs and even bought the FlexT9 because I couldn't get Swype or dragon to work but none of them were as good as the dragon/swype combo from my LG OV. I found out how to get it working on this phone however and now it works perfectly. I have a Titanium backup of it from the LG so using that i restored it to the Evo V then using Ti option to integrate into system ROM and that was all she took. I think I posted this in here in another thread too, see if this works for you if you really want it.
I do most of my "txting" using dragon and I have to say my iphone friends are bery jealous of how well it works LOL,
