Help Anyone else on battery life?

I've had my One S for a week now and am wondering if the battery life gets better. I can barely get through a day on an overnight charge and my phone is off from 730 to 230 due to school on weekdays. I have checked the battery usage settings page and it says that my screen is taking most of the battery power which ranges from 53% up to 75% at times. We recently got my mother's One S a month ago and hers went like this and progressively got better. I have more apps on mine as she does but both of our main consumers were the screen. Does this get any better? Thanks.

This is definitely not my experience - I've found the device to be very good for battery life. With juice defender on the basic settings, I've often managed to go 36 hours without charge and I'm a pretty frequent user (although I don't tend to play resource hungry games)

However for the screen to be that high in percentage terms doesn't sound right, assuming you have it set to auto brightness.

I don't use auto brightness, I'll turn that on to see if that helps. I see a mix of Llama and Tasker working perfectly, and I don't play too many games.
