Anyone else having an issue with the gps getting stuck on? I 've had it happen a couple of times so far. The last time I had even cleared out any running apps. Not sure what is causing it, maybe someone can shed some light on it. I'm on 4.4.2 stock verizon software.
 
When you say GPS - are you saying the Maps app won't shut down? Or... is it the Location icon? If you're talking about the Location icon, I've had a few times that doesn't go away after I've turned it off, & I either 1) ignore it, or 2) restart the phone & it goes away.

Yes to Icon won't go away. it's white like it is trying to grab signal for something
 
Yeah, happens for me sometimes but if it bugs me I just turn my phone off & back on again. No idea why it sometimes happens though - although I think it's just grey, not white for me.
 
The few times I've used the gps after updating to KK, once it did get stuck and the icon wouldn't go away.

Other two times it did go off, only because I turned the gps off (can't stand for it to be on since I rarely use it)
 
Settings ! Location ! Mode.

Set to Battery saving unless you need to use navigation or another GPS app. Then set it to High Accuracy.

Across the board, so many people on so many devices wishing they hadn't gotten KitKat.

Once I even turned location altogether off when it got stuck and it wouldn't go away. I usually leave it on since I haven't really noticed a battery drain since the kk update. I went in and checked the apps the only thing using GPS is Waze or google maps most other stuff uses Battery saving mode.
 
Weird that's never happened to me.

I suppose the easiest way instead of doing a restart if the icon is stuck:

Settings/apps/all apps/gps app and force stop it.
