Help Anyone figure out how to get better low light pics?

I really love everything about this device except for the camera. It 100% sucks in low light: focus is off, white balance is off, color is off.

I'm coming from a Torch with a 5mp camera. When taking a pic in the dark or low light witht that camera, it would "pre-flash" to focus, find the subject and set balance, etc. The result was VERY good pictures in low light.

Has anyone figured out a settings combination that improves low light performance?

Thanks.

I found that turning the saturation down to -1 greatly improved the colors in the pics. Especially in low light.

TXRanger: that makes a HUGE, HUGE difference for low light photos. Outstanding advice.

If you also set sharpening to -2 (effectively turning in-camera sharpening and noise reduction off) the effect is even better!

With these settings, the camera performance is very acceptable in low light.

THANK YOU!
