Anyone get the OTA yet?

2prevail

Android Enthusiast
So did anyone get it? I'm still waiting to get mine. I understand the process can take up to 2 weeks but I'm just curious if anyone did receive the update yet

Did you notice any changes?
I am waiting for the OTA.

I noticed the nav and status bar on the lock screen are transparent and the animation when switching songs on the lock screen is extremely smooth. As for inside, I only noticed that wireless display in settings was renamed cast screen

On my N4 I've got all the updates very quickly, even though I'm in China, but my new N7 (2013) is still running 4.3 (JWR66N) N4 is 4.4,2 (KOT49H). Not that I'm in any hurry, quite happy with 4.3, but wonder why the N7 hasn't got the updates yet? It's the Wi-Fi 16g version, bought in US.

You can always sideload the software (instructions on how are all over the place) or if you would rather update via OTA double check with others in the Nexus 7 forums to see if they are experiencing the same problem. My best guess is that every time a new software was on its way Google would push a new update instead (4.4.1 and 4.4.2 launched the same week) so your N7 is probably just waiting for 4.4.2, so you have about another week or so before you should be worried, hope this helps :D

I got the OTA for 4.4.2 on my N7 (2012) before my N4, both sometime last week. I don't think you can assume anything about when, where and on what device an OTA will arrive or in what order.

Yes it does thanks, I will just wait patiently.

It's completely random when you get it. Nothing you can do will influence it.
Not entirely true, although the way to "push" it in quicker is less than desirable... you can clear data on Google Framework, and just continue to do it, then check for updates, and repeat until it goes through (essentially gives you a new chance at the random draw, repeat until you win so to speak), but unless you plan on factory defaulting afterwards I wouldn't recommend it, it can have other negative side effects. It is very easy to side load the update with ADB, and it is an approved method of doing it, no unlocking, rooting, or other warranty voiding activities required.
