Anyone going naked?

I have a zagg screen protector and no case. I'm sure I'll be able to pick up a new back cover for less thanwhat a case costs. I had the phone for about three weeks now and there is not a single scratch on it so far .

Haven't received my holster case yet, but I just had a Zaag Invisible Shield HD screen protector put on at Best Buy. A very clean and clear look to it...not like the old pebbled look. Worth the $25 ( but made easier by using two $10 reward cards.)

Yep, mine goes totally commando. No case, no screen protector. The case I understand, but why would you need a screen protector? The gorilla glass is incredible, and will even stand up to key clanking against it.

I might consider a case if it suits me, but the design is so sleek, I'd rather enjoy it for what it is.

only because it spends a lot of time in my purse

Except for that other thread in this forum where lots of folks are easily getting scratches that they never did with their DXs even when the DXs suffered serious skidding across concrete.

I have a screen protector on mine and one of those quicksand shells. It's super thin and the texture is awesome. More importantly, it has the right kind of grip. It's not slippery at all, but it's not rubbery either which can also cause droppage. I also need a case I could take it out of in a snap so i can use the stock infuse 4g dock.

I wouldn't dare put a case around it and make it ugly. I don't put cases around any of my devices except the old Axim X51v.

Everything gets a screen protector though, including the S3.

I always seem to buy cases for the phones I own, but they always come off within 2 or 3 weeks. (knock on wood) I've never had a broken phone due to a drop, so I'd rather enjoy the small footprint.

Sigh, I'm doomed now.

What kind of case would suit you?

No case here. I think it complety ruins the look and feel of a nice phone. I think this phone is a joy to hold in your hands.
I work at an office, though. If I needed to, I would protect it at work.

I've had my phone for 10 days.....just noticed the first screen scratch. Was polishing off the day's oil and grime now and couldn't get one spot perfectly clean. In the light reflection now (when the screen is dark) I see a small "j" shape about 1/3 inch long. Definitely a small scratch.

So now the man who has said "Bahhhh" to screen protectors is back reading the screen protector thread. I'll probably withhold still, because this is mostly MY phone....to use and enjoy for the next few years. I do not see myself as just a steward of this phone for the schmoe who buys it from me off Ebay several years from now.....and I'm not convinced that there is any significant resale price difference for a used phone with a few small scratches vs a "perfect" one. I guess if there is a screen protector that can nearly emulate the smooth glassy feel of the GG2 screen and not reduce touch sensitivity then maybe I'm listening. But to pay $15-20, reduce my enjoyment for the next 2 years and make my phone look worse during that time, all so I can hand over a "mint screen" to the Ebay buyer.....I dunno, I'm still wrestling with that logic.

I broke down and got the Ringke Slim Lite case & screen protector. I planned to go naked when starting this thread, but some of the replies made me paranoid, lol.

Naked all the way! You get to feel the true build quality of the phone. Cases are heavy and ugly. Anyway if you scratch the back whats a back case worth $30.

I just got my Galaxy S3 yesterday and i'm using the phone in a pull tab case, i personally think anything that clips onto the device is adding bulk which on such a thin smartphone makes a huge difference! A screen protector and a case you slide you device into is the perfect answer :)

Ordered mine yesterday, will be going naked for a spell with a view to getting a case at some point. I have a 'phone only in pocket' rule and always been been careful (& lucky) enough not to need a screen protector.

i'm baffled as to why buy a phone with this type of form factor and build if you are putting anything on it?!? Trying to add weight to it??? ~scratch head~ i also understand being protective of an investment but a nick here and there who cares... isn't that what insurance is for anyway? I guess its different for everyone but i've never sold a phone and never will... i'd rather give it to a friend or donate or more likely put it in the elephant graveyard which doubles as the junk drawer in my kitchen... bottom line, for me this is a tool and i use my tools until they deserve retirement or i get a better tool. to each their own i suppose...

aside from that i have looked into getting some kind of aluminum battery door that might spice it up... check em out.
