tyvm, selected a vanity gv#, forwarded my phone to it for vm, added the gv# to my vzw list of 10 "friends" to avoid some charges.

Will anyone post their analysis of how Google Voice configurations impact the cost of call scenarios? incoming vs outgoing, my cost vs the cost on the other side of the conversation.

I think I flubbed when I chose a vanity number in a long distance area code. My land-line friends still have the same vzw cell # to call though.

That's not how it works. You have to request it from Google.

Currently you cannot use your own number, GV will issue you a number. You will be able to add your current number in your GV account and have it ring when your GV number is dialed.
