Hi
Just had a notification that there is an update for Kitkat.

Is there any known problems with this update on the Moto G?

I just want to make sure before updating.

Thanks

I did have a look around the site and did a search but could not find anything.
Must have been looking in the wrong place.

If I could have some links.........thanks

You're referring to the 174.44.1 system update, not the jump to Kit Kat itself, right? Yeah, I did this update yesterday and no problems. The release notes only addressed 4 bugs, none of which I experienced before or after.

http://news.softpedia.com/news/Moto...that-Fixes-Signal-Reception-Loss-429399.shtml

- Fixed an issue which caused temporary cellular network loss for a small number of customers;
- Fixed wallpaper cropping issue;
- Resolved USB OTG support for USB drives;
- Fixed low call volume as experienced by some users.

Yes, if you're already on Kit Kat there's no reason to not do this update. In fact, these bugs being worked out (and I recall at least the call volume issue being complained about here, probably the other things as well) should sway those that still have trepidation about KK to go ahead and take the plunge.

I installed the update this morning and now having issues with either Groove IP or Google Voice. I'm using these apps along with Tmobile $30 prepaid plan. But I can make/receive calls using Tmobile.

Since the latest update, I'm having issues with making & receiving calls using GrooveIP and Google Voice. I'm not sure which one may have the problem but when someone calls me, I can't hear them and they can't hear me. I can dial out but the receiver doesn't hear me. I thought I had this working around 5pm this evening but since then it's not working.

Anyone else having this type of issues?

Thnx.

I've had 4.4.2 for a while on my Nexus 5 and haven't had this particular issue. The developer of GrooveIP has a thread here on AF for support, so you could try bringing it up there or pinging then via email about the issue. Just for basic troubleshooting though, I would try uninstalling and reinstalling both google voice and GrooveIP to clean up any possible issues that could have occurred from the update.

My issue seems to have happen since the 174.44.1 system update for the Moto G, I installed yesterday. I'll uninstall & reinstall GIP & GV when I get home and see what happens.

Thnx.

I tried uninstalling & reinstalling the apps and it's not making a difference. At home, calls are coming through sometimes but not every call. While at work, if someone call me, they say voicemail is picking up, even if I answer. If I call someone, we are not able to hear each other.

I'm not sure but since the latest update, it looks like GrooveIP is having problems. I reinstall Talkatone and it is working good. Earlier this month Talkatone came with an update and it had issues with Google Voice, I think it may be preparing for when Google disallow 3rd party apps from accessing GV. Maybe GIP will have an update to fix this issue I'm having.

Thnx.

Saptech, I remember reading sometime back that Google was making some changes to the way Wi-Fi calling was going to work and that there was some worry, among folks that do Wi-Fi calling, that grooveip and others wouldn't work right.

Google is going to stop 3rd party apps from accessing Google Voice in May. Unless Google have an alternative, I better be looking on doing something else. I guess I could just keep extra funds in my account.

Thnx.
