Anyone hate the new my.yahoo?

Yahoo went and made their site useless again, so I moved to Canada and all is well.

For My Yahoo, change my.yahoo.com to ca.my.yahoo.com
For Yahoo Weather, change weather.yahoo.com to ca.weather.yahoo.com
For Yahoo Sports, change sports.yahoo.com to ca.sports.yahoo.com

I spend more time rejecting progress than embracing it.

That is what I call going to extreme measures! Hope you bundled up!!:)

Surely the question should have been "Anyone seen the new my.yahoo?"

Can't remember the last time I looked at Yahoo. Certainly not this mellenium.

Yeah, well, I been using a few of their pages since the nineties. Don't know why, just a nice presentation of yer basic newsy stuff... until now.

The only thing I use Yahoo for is a local birding group, I have a Yahoo account for that only. I can't tell you when the last time I used any other Yahoo thing was. They did change the group site a while back but it's not hideous. Since I haven't noticed any new/recent changes there I guess I don't have to move to Canada, although they would have new birds for me to see :)

I gave up on yahoo over a decade ago. They were one of the first big names to start popup/intrusive ads and then stored my credit card in a yahoo wallet when I made a purchase through a store who used their merchant sites/system and my card was stolen and they were basically non helpful to the police.

Who uses my. yahoo? I don't save cookies or any permanent login. I log into mail, and the old-style mail to boot, turn off images, deal with junk, hit the home link, turn off images again, temp allow yahoo, and yimg via Noscript, get all my groups, read, log out, revoke temp permissions, get the front page of Yahoo. Read it, check Ghostery, and leave for another forum.

Gmail has become a spam trap. I've moved stuff elsewhere. I never visit the page as I use POP3.

I have an old email account that I rarely check (online, I do check it on my phone), so I've not really noticed how lame(r) they've become. I'd like for them to work because they have a female CEO. But Gmail/google has them beat. They have a long way to go.

Lol, at least they are trying to stay in the game. But there's not much of a future for them as Google will always have an advantage.

I, too, find myself unfixing things that weren't broken in the first place. The new yahoo took away what I liked about the old one: flexible, bug-free and with a clean look. I can't seem to add to or format the new one. It does have a bunch of busy new themes that I'll never use, though. Yippee.

Appreciate the tip for reversion. I'm sure they'll eventually flip that as well, but for now, I'm also in the Great White.

Thank you! I've also been using my yahoo for well over a decade. I kept it because it was clean, economical with space, not spammy and just gave you the few things you wanted and didn't bother you with anything else. And then they made it into something that looks well.. Yahoo-ish.

I guess yahoo is dead set on driving out the few folks who bother giving them the time of day. We're just getting in the way of them turning the lights off.

I changed to the canadian address. Unfortunately I assume they will be moved over shortly as well. But it'll do for now.

Is anyone having problems with the page view spontaneously changing? I've only been on the Canadian site a few days, but every time I've logged in my modules are in different places, and sometimes the layout type has changed.

Yep, I changed yahoo my, sports and weather to Canada but the sports just went 'modern' without even asking me first... the end is near.

In case you're wondering what I'm kvetching about, this is the good old way:

And this the cortex-numbing new way:

I finally found a workaround, then I get this:

Thank you for using My Yahoo. To help focus our efforts on core Yahoo product experiences, we will discontinue My Yahoo by March 24, 2014 and redirect you to ca.yahoo.com. You can still access the US version at my.yahoo.com. Learn more.

They're just doing this to pi** me off...
