I see they work well according to several at XDA.

I just got a 5m long mini-USB cable and use my PS3 controller from the couch while the Prime is connected to my HDTV

The relatively cheap logitech wired USB ones work too, since I have one of those knocking around the house.

Datel Retro Wireless controller also works (yep, have one of those too!).
