Root Anyone have the 6.x.x.x recovery?

Does anyone have the newer version of recovery in an apk the same way the old version is in an apk? I really need to access it, and I tried neesher's multitool and I tried to install it through another aroma tool that jhonny posted... It just won't stick! Everytime I reboot and go back into recovery it's the 5.xx version. Please I know that someone out there has got it in an apk version that's easy to install, the same way the original one is-the one posted in the root guide! I'm on stock and it would make everything a hell of a lot easier if I could open the 2nd init app and it goes directly into the new recovery. It has become impossible to reboot into recovery (tapping vol down or home and back don't work for me), so if someone has it in an apk, or a way to update the old one without having to do it through cwm, and is willing to share, it'd be very very much appreciated. I know there's a way to do it, but I just wanna get it done already, cuz I need to wipe+format my internal sd and I can't do it in the old recovery. If there is a thread about how to update the old recovery outside of cwm, it should definitely be stckied so that it is not so difficult to find in the forum. The new recovery is just more effecient and should be as easily available as the old one (no diss to the dev who came up with the old version.). Excuse my tone of desperation, it's just been hours all day for me of trying and re-trying to upgrade cwm through cwm.. it didn't stick once. So I either gotta edit it manually outside of cwm (don't know how) or I have to have it spoon fed to me in the form of an apk.:p Thanks!

have you tried manually replacing the recovery.tar. if you delete the 5.xxx recovery and replace with 6.xxx recovery.tar using file manager, i don't see how it could not stick. /system/xbin/recovery.tar ;) just unzip the aroma that me or neeshers made and remove the file.

UNBELIEVABLE! So I extracted the recovery.tar from the zip you sent me with recovery 5+6 (Obviously I extracted the tar from 6), then I DELETED the recovery.tar that I had in my system/xbin folder, then I pasted the 6 recovery.tar to my system/xbin folder, changed permissions, and rebooted. Then I went into recovery through the app, and guess what? Friggin 5.x recovery came up goddammit! How is that even possible? Am I just cursed or something? Is there another file that needs to be changed also? WTF?

Through the app? You dont use the app on cm. You use the power menu or reboot and spam volume.
If your on stock then 5.xxxx is your only option as far as i know. Thats why it wont stick. Because it doesnt work on stock. 2nd init apk is the only option.

Word? That blows. I thought the new recovery was compatible with stock. Well, that answers my question then. Good lookin out dude. I appreciate your help.

i thought i once read somewhere on here about a different version of 2nd init app but i never could find it again so i probably imagined it. theoretically you could decompile the apk and change out the recovery but i'm not sure if that would work or not.

I wouldn't even know what files to swap out anyway. I think what I'm gonna do is go to cm, flash the 6 recovery, wipe and format evrything, kdz unbrick back to stock, then restore my backup. Theoretically it should work, we'll see how it goes! I guess one LAST last question: would restoring a backup affect gps? I think I read somewhere that a backup only restores user data and settings. If it does affect gps, I'm willing to start from scratch if I absolutely must. But restoring a backup would just make my life 100x easier.
