Help Anyone having issues staying on data when switching from 4G to 3G?

I just got phone yesterday and I think I love it. First time I've picked up 4G at the house...previous Nexus never got 4G and low bars on 3G.

Anyway, today I ventured up towards Myrtle Beach. When I left Charleston, I happened to look down at phone and had 2-3 bars, they were grey, and no 4G or 3G or 1X. Nothing. No data.

I called Verizon, they had me disconnect the Power Saver Smart Action (the data part of it)...did not fix
They had me select Set Mobile data limit and just select high ranges since on unlimited...did not fix

Then had me power + volume down to reset...fixed and got 3G.

Got up to Myrtle, 4G switched...no problem. I then turned smart action back on and deselected mobile data limit.

Coming back I looked down and same thing...grey bars and no data.

WTH?

Try taking the phone off Global if its on. Setting it to LTE/CDMA always seems to work better for me.

In theory its supposed to pick of better, more reception on Global but it hasnt been the case. And I think Global is a battery drain.
