I actually got 3G signal in Uni now so apparently the APN is working, however, I didn't get any good speeds, only tops 140/150kbps and several of the speed tests gave me -0 on download. Will probably call O2 someday and find out why..
Oh, and I got my 8Gb Class 6 SD card I ordered from Amazon today! It really speeds up the phone! Even though I didn't notice at first since it's pretty darn fast with the default Class 2 card, I did notice after a while that there was considerable less sluggishness when browsing a graphical intense web page or changing home screens with many apps running, etc.
Anyone else having problems with their phones?
so far I've had a couple of issues with the keyboard where
it doesent get the letter I'm poking, could be going for a t and its
Giving me a space.
Had a random shut down today while on FB.
And I've never seen a 3h only get 3g or just a 3, and signal is dire on orange
With this nexus.
Grrr. :-(
You press the t and you get a space? Sounds like you're accidentally touching somewhere else on the screen at the same time. Happens to me once in a while. I'm holding the phone with my left hand and tapping with my right when one of my fingers on the left hand accidentally touches the border of the screen at the same time I'm tapping with my right hand so I get all sort of unexpected inputs.
I find however the back/menu/home/search buttons the most annoying, I accidentally tap them far too often when typing with the keyboard or sometimes simply by holding the phone (dunno how I manage to reach them), making me exit applications, or interrupt whatever I'm doing by going back/home/etc.. I suppose it's a manner of getting used to the way of writing/using the screen.
Was tempted by the NES and Gameboy emulators but it meant going to find roms which seemed a hassle. Or are they readily available?
Some NES roms are free to download online, but most good ones have copyright licensing so won't be available that way. I didn't bother about NES though since most good games were ported to Gameboy Advance anyway. I tried a few games out and it really is VERY cool to play GBA games like Pokemon of Super Mario World on this sweet screen. The games run just as fast as it would on the GBA with the only problem that Doc Savage also mentions, the lack of multitouch and thus limited controls. Though, for RPG games where you seldom have to do anything more than one action at the time it works flawlessly!
As to where to find the games.. Well, you'll have to either backup your own ROMs with a Flash Linker (GBA->USB Adapter), download Freeware roms (
Gameboy Advance Roms : Free GBA roms) or get them.. from somewhere else....
Congrats Fatal Exception! Still waiting for mine to update.
EDIT: Noooo! I see you ordered after me. What is going on with my order.
It took a full 5 working days for me to get my phone.. I ordered Monday 11th in the morning and it arrived at noon on Friday 15th. oniongirl ordered hers on Tuesday 12th in the afternoon and got hers the same day as mine (even a couple of hours earlier..). So, you still have some time left before you can start to worry
