Anyone know about plan b???

I HAVE A HUGE PROBLEM! My Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant was stolen on Thurday (2//9/11) from the bathroom of my job (Ross). I was on my break and i left it in there, when I went back it was gone. There is a lock code on the door to the bathroom and all employees know it, but I was informed by the associate at the fitting room that there were only 2 people she let into the bathroom. I caught the second person in there and asked her frantically if there was a phone in there and she said no, so I used her phone to call my phone and it just rang & rang, I didn't have the lookout app installed &I just read about plan B so i tried that, but haven't got an e-mail back as to where my phone is. I filed a police report & I don't have insurance on this phone, its T-Mobile Prepaid. They suspended my service but I turned it back on to keep calling the theif, I sent them a txt and I am offering a reward, but does plan B work if the phone is off? How do I know if they haven't switched SIM cards? HELP!!!

I had the same problem. My samsung galay s2 got stolen in tube and i repoted it immediately. I called back to unbarr the phone. I tried downloading plan b but it dosen't install at all, you can check as well by going to library and if you click on plan b then install, if there's a green button saying install. Basically it hasnt installed it, if it's installed it would be grey and say it's aready installed. (i checked with my sisters phone). Plan b therefore dosent work if phone is switched off. About the sim change, plan b needs constant texting to the phone 'locate' so we cant really pin point the exact place. But here's my plan ( even though it's not good ) i would try to install plan b every day. This way you would know if the thief has managed to charge up the phone and turn it on, it will surely download the plan b app which would mean that you know someone's using it. Then you can probably contact the service (tmobile) to find out the sim in your phonne. Call him/her and whilst your talking to her/him text locate to the phone so that they dont suspect. Sory for the looong reply. hope this helps.
