Help Anyone know how to sync contacts with MBP??

I was able to sync the contact list but without the categories that are in my Apple Contacts. I have a bunch of contacts which are separated by Family,Hotels,Banks,Friends,Customers,etc.. Now I have the whole 300+ contacts in my contact book on my Nexus S but don't have any categories to go with them that were on my Apple Iphone 4 and on my MBP. Anyone able to help with this?

PS: I do not wish to sync my contacts with Google. I just want the contacts in my Nexus S without having to sync them online.

I believe the only way to create categories for your contacts is to do so online through your Google account. Once you have separated your contacts into categories and synced them to your phone, you'll be able to view the category list by doing the following:

Open contacts>press the menu button>click "display options">then click on the Google account associated with your contact list>check the box for the contact categories you want to see>click "done"

It's probably not as simple and convenient as the iPhone's contact list but this is your only option for now.

You already have a gmail account to activate the phone, so what do you gain by not syncing from Address Book to Google Contacts? If nothing else you gain an online backup of all that info. Google has a dedicated site to syncing Apple iCal/Address/Mail to the cloud. So you can still use your desktop apps to add/edit/delete contacts and calendar events and send/sort email, and then it all syncs to your phone automagically.
