Anyone know the ins and outs of a Vibrant (galaxy s)? My phone refuses to be recognized by PC

I'm absolutely at my wits end trying to get my phone to be recognized by my PC. I have Win 7 64-bit but apparently the drivers specified don't work. The crazy thing is it worked a few times when I got my laptop, then never again. If anyone thinks they have an answer, I'll give any info I can and I would be most appreciative. Cheers

sorry about the late response. I'm currently trying to root my phone. It's had Froyo 2.2 on it since the update came out. I wanted to put Gingerbread on it and generally just have my pc recognize the phone. I've tried different cables, all the possible drivers, uninstall, reinstall, kies mini, the list goes on and on. I've plugged my phone into three different computers, one with Win7 in which I get no recognition in regular or USB debugging mode, one with XP, no recognition there either, and one with Vista in which USB debugging works but that's it. My problem is that when I put the phone into download mode, then the Vista PC doesn't recognize it. I'm pretty much damned if I do and damned if I don't. Samsung and T-mobile were no help and I've scoured the internet for weeks trying to solve this problem. I know one thing, Samsung will be lucky if I ever buy another one of their products. This is maddening! If anyone can help, I'd be EXTREMELY grateful!

Lots of people had this problem with the Vibrant and Windows 64 bit, including me. Enable USB debugging on your phone and that should fix it, the drivers will install.

Moved this to the Vibrant section - might be able to get more help here with people have had some experience with this issue.

Good luck!

I've tried that many many times. It's not even recognizing in USB debug mode. I've disabled all anti-virus and literally tried every method I could find on the net. Still no luck.

And to the other poster, I'm putting blame on Samsung for having seriously lackluster support and knowledge of their own phone. It's like the Vibrant was an after thought three months after it came out.

I'd recommend visiting the Vibrant forums at xda developers, they are still very active, and hopefully have run into this before and can help you.

I appreciate it. xda has been a tremendous help in other regards but as far as my phone connecting to any of my PCs, still no luck. Crazy thing is that it worked fine a few times and then never again. :(

I know its silly, but I actually had a similar problem a week ago. Have you tried a different USB port?

I had a usb on my Vibrant that worked then went bad, luckily it was still in warranty and I send it back. And I tried 4 computers: xp, 2 win7, and a mac.
