Anyone play an instrument?

I've been working on it for a week and can't get much more than dead duck noises out of it. Any sage advice?

Well, I went out yesterday and bought an alto saxophone off CL. The deal was too good to pass up. They wanted $150 for it. It was re-padded and adjusted last year for a kid who decided not to play it. Parents just wanted to get rid of it. I took it to a music shop and they had a tech look over it. The guy found nothing at all wrong with it except he said the ligature was slightly warped and might not hold some reeds. So I replaced the ligature for $5, bought some reeds and was good to go.

Put it together today and was actually able to blow a few notes right off the bat. Way more successful than my trumpet experiment.

This is the latest guitar im building. Im trying to get as close as possible to the original. Got my pickups hand wound by a pickup builder here. can't wait to load them in and test them!...He made me a set of john mayer big dippers and they are just like the oriignals!

This BLK1 strat has THE tone im looking for....but I don't want to shell out 8300 for one!

I've been teaching myself guitar over the last few years. Currently I've got 3 electrics of my own, an First Act ME-502 (first electric), custom built Ibanez and a 3 tone sunburst Ion I got cheap at a pawn shop.

REALLY want my uncle's SG Custom and my aunt's Epiphone.

at the moment I have 3 fender stratocasters, a godin LG P90 and an epiphone Les Paul special with gibson pickups in it. Anyone who wants a custom built guitar feel free to contact me..

Maybe someone on here can help me with the proper way to breathe while playing the sax. It's killing me and throwing me off. My musical background is percussion where breathing doesn't matter and I've messed with piano and guitar where breathing doesn't matter either. I'm realizing I can't play an entire 3-4 minute song on one breath though. When am I supposed to breathe while playing this thing? How long should I be able to hold a note?

Woah....You should take breaths between note progressions, if theres a little break...

you tube is great for learning techniques.

I am playing guitar and I have a cheap Yamaha E-Drumkit to jam with. But I hardly find the time to play them :/ I would love to play the sax, but I never tried it. I think I would be out of breath in no time...

And I know, it's not like a real instrument and therefore might be OT, but since we're in a musical thread of an Android forum, I want to show you my favorite android instruments, that make me jam on the bus.

Space Drum
Space Piano
FLOW - A Space Drum Saga (A drumming game - compared to similar games you actually have to play the drums for real and need a basic sense for rhythm)

These are awesome! I'm a drummer too, I had no idea these existed. Thank you! :)
