Anyone play Dream Zoo?

I've been playing Dream Zoo for as long as I've been playing Tapfish. I love both games and recommend Dream Zoo for anyone who likes collecting and breeding animals and designing habitats. Plus they just added aquatic animals to the mix with an entirely separate under water habitat for them to live and you to decorate!
Pocket Frogs is another game I've only just started playing. It's super cute, but way more simplified than the aforementioned games. Collecting, breeding, and habitat designing are still evolved, just in a more limited way.

I started to play this but don't know what I'm doing. I have been able to breed a champion gazelle but have not been able to get any mate for my giraffe even though I go on safaris and find several. I even named them. I thought I had bought or won other animals too but I don't see them anywhere! What am I missing??

Edit: I have managed to purchase other animals and find mates for them, so I think it's just a bug with the giraffe. I've wasted a lot of coins and maybe even bucks trying to get its mate.

Pinkpillkiller, thanks for mentioning this game! I am now at level 10 and have a zoo full of animals. I'm not sure that I know all the ins and outs of earning coins, cash, and hearts but I think I'm getting there. I still don't understand what happened to my giraffes (see previous post) but I sold the first one and then repurchased one, and I was able to get the other ones back. However, I think I squandered all my cash and am having a hard time earning it back. I also haven't been visit other zoos or exchange gifts. How can I visit yours? My zoo code is BUQQZQT.

Nephthys, this game works with Bluestacks and I think you might enjoy it.

It's a similar to Tap Zoo and Tap Ranch, but much better, IMO. This is the first zoo or farming type game I've actually enjoyed. The animals are cartoony but cute, and they do move around. You also see all the animals you buy or breed. I think it's Tap Zoo (I have tried several different zoo games so I might have the wrong one) that only shows you one -- or it may have been two -- of each type of animal, and puts a number next to them to show you how many of each you have.

Definitely Tap Zoo is the one where it only shows you a statue-like version of your animals. I tried that one after playing Dream Zoo, wanting to play more games where you care for and breed animals. Dream Zoo to me is a lot like Tapfish with the satisfaction you feel when you've gotten your animals to Champion level, and you've decorated their habitats just the way you like it.
The coins and bucks are pretty identical to Tapfish, where bucks are almost impossible to get without spending actual money, but you get one buck for levelling up, and every once in a while you'll complete a goal or "quest" that'll earn you one buck. The cool thing about coins in Dream Zoo is that you don't have to SELL your animals to get coins; your animals actually EARN coins FOR YOU, just by existing!
Hearts depends mostly on having "friends" and "neighbors" whose zoos you visit, while there you feed and wash their animals and get hearts. Hearts are what you need to breed your own animals. I love this game almost as much as Tapfish. Highly recommend!!!!
My zoo code is CNPLOTB
Be my friend!!!!!
Tapfish name: pinkpillkiller

My wife plays it and loves it, I dont think her phone can handle it, constanty freezes to the point she has to take out the battery, she still plays it though, she must really love that game, says bucks are a little easier to get, has tried to get my to play it, Im content with tapfish, it takes up just enough of my time, but im not constantly playing or on for long periods of time, btw, talking about bucks, that is defanitly the thing now with server based games, I tried this game dont remember the name it was a game you are a criminal, and have your territory and have to do things like rob stores and shake people down, I liked it till I realized you have to pay for bucks like tapfish, im not ready to start from scratch, I deleted it

Thanks for this, I've started playing Dream Zoo and I must say I really like it. Pocket Frogs is not compatible with my tablet which is probably a good thing because Tapfish and Dream Zoo are already taking up too much of my time.

I think the animals in Dream Zoo are really cute and I like the way they are animated, they seem to be alive on the screen. There seems to be lots of opportunity for expanding the zoo and lots of different animals to buy and to breed.

If you like Tapfish, I would recommend anyone to take a look at Dream Zoo.
My zoo code is CITYOKY please pop along and be my friend.

What are the names of your zoos, too? I add the zoo code, but when I visit, it doesn't show the zoo code, only the zoo name, so I don't know whom I'm visiting. My zoo name is Rosor Valley and my code is BUQQZQT. I have visited Country Garden Zoo, Angels Heaven, and Lous Zoo. I also have some that say Community Player. What does that mean?

Edit: never mind...I guess we are all Community Players.

Does anybody recognize any of these names?

My phone died!:bawling::bawling::bawling:
I was downloading dream zoo to try it and got a phone call so I answered it. when I hung up my phone was frozen. I couldn't do anything. I pulled out the battery and when I put it back in it wouldn't start up. Called tech support, went to the Verizon store. They couldn't even do a factory reset.:(:(Nothing. Now I have to wait until Wednesday for the replacement phone to come in.

I'm so sad.:bawling:I'll need to switch my game to the new phone. I have my meid #, I know there's a how-to somewhere on this forum; I need to find that.

Sorry about your phone, Sprite. If you have the MEID or whatever for your current phone, when you get your new phone, install Tapfish, then email GV with the information from the new game. They have the instructions there.

Is anybody else experiencing freezing with Dream Zoo? It seems to freeze up fairly frequently when I'm playing. Sometimes, it will resume after a few seconds, but other times it will be totally locked. I can sometimes reboot the phone by holding down the Home button - but I have also had to resort to removing the battery.

By the way, when you go on a safari and win decorations such as flowers or rocks, what happens to them? I never see them in my habitats. Are they there but I'm not looking in the right place? Can you sell them?

Oh, it took me a long time to figure out that you have to tap the picture of the food when the status bar lights it up in order to earn coins for feeding. Now I am having a hard time tapping them fast enough when there is more than one icon to tap.

When Dream Zoo was a download for fb on tapfish I did download and play for a while and liked it. However as you said it froze constantly and caused the phone either to reboot or I had to remove the battery. It lagged horribly and it would never locate my position even though the gps on the phone worked fine. I forget what you can do now but if you were at someones home or the shopping center or work there was something to do with those new locations but I never could get it to locate me. Finally uninstalled it and stopped playing since I just couldn't take the freezing.

I play Dream Zoo on my tablet, same with Tapfish, and never have freezing problems. Sometimes Tapfish will close suddenly for no apparent reason, but that's my only issue.

The stuff you win on safaris only goes toward your goals. The little clipboard icon on the lower left shows your goals and rewards. Some goals will be like, "Collect 10 canteens on Desert Safaris". Once you achieve that goal, you get coins and/or hearts and rarely some bucks as your reward. Unfortunately theses items cannot be used as decorations or be sold.

Feeding my animals gets a tad bit annoying for me as well. The bar that moves toward the food icons changes speeds, and sometimes out have to tap really fast to do it perfectly.

By the way, my zoo's called Angel's Heaven (my real name's Angel). I also dislike the fact that you can only see the zoo names and not the zoo codes of Community Members (which are like "random neighbors" in Tapfish).

In closing, I hope you're enjoying the game, despite the issues you've been having, and visit Angel's Heaven often!!

P. S. Have you discovered the aquatic portion of Dream Zoo? If not, scroll over to the right of your zoo where the little boat and dock are. There should be an icon that looks like a flashlight. Click it and "dive" to the underwater zoo.

Have fun!!

I received my new phone yesterday. I downloaded dream zoo (figured if it was going to kill my phone I wanted to know right away;); I was told I just had a phone that was not set up right? My first smart phone:rolleyes:)

Anyway, I added everyone on here as neighbors. My code is BHLBKJR. Zoo name; Sprites Wonderland. Come visit.:D

It seems like you need to visit neighbors quite a bit to advance, or earn hearts? but unless you have a zoo code you can't just visit random neighbors like you can in tapfish. I'm not on facebook, and that seems like the only other option.

I'm not sure if I really know what I'm doing, but I have collected a few different animals an have breed a set of champion Giraffes.

I'm afraid to spend my bucks (might be from playing tapfish lol) Any recommendations on the best way to use them?

I downloaded Dream Zoo for the fish bucks, and now I'm addicted. Not sure I've got all the rules straight, but I'm still working on a strategy. I'm also determined not to use real money! I like the multitude of colors and how the animals move in and out of the trees, etc. My code is CWWUJVN - I'm in the process of visiting those already mentioned!!:)

Glad you got your new phone okay!

You can also earn hearts for some of the achievements (check the clipboard icon in the lower left) and for picking up trash or collecting fruit. Also when you go on safaris you might win some hearts.

I have also been hanging into my bucks because I don't want to blow them.

ok, ok, ok, I give in - I'm downloading it! It's a massive app - 32.6 MB  I'm downloading it on BlueStacks - I'm not even going to try it on the phone, given how big it is. I've probably tried to before if it was a FB promotion. 90% of the promoted apps aren't compatible with my phone.

I noticed an app called 'Dream Zoo Codes' so perhaps that could be useful if you need more neighbours?

EDIT: I have a zoo! My code is DAGBKPQ and it's called 'Animal Farm'.

I must admit I do find this friends thing a bit confusing, so here is my zoo name and code:

Country Garden Zoo and the code is CITYOKY

I just visited that code and the zoo is called Alder Ranch - is that correct?

It should definitely be code DAGBKPQ and be called Animal Farm.

I'm neighbours with:
  • Alder Hollow
  • Country Garden Zoo (Trebormint)
  • Izybits Zoo
  • Sprites Wonderland (Sprite)
  • Rosor Valley (Droidros)
Invites sent to:
  • Angels Heaven (pinkpillkiller)

It's driving me mad by crashing when I visit people though. :(

A word of warning - Zynga have a reputation for selling on people's details...

Pinkpillkiller, Droidros... I have just wasted my entire evening playing with my zoo!!!! I'm blaming you!!!! ;)

I'm beginning to think I might save my bucks to buy another stork. I can't breed fast enough. If anyone could visit and help deliver a baby that would be great!!!

You make a fantastic midwife trebormint, thank you!!! I've returned the favour. :) I think I'm definitely going to buy another stork when I've saved enough bucks. I have cradles on virtually every plot. :( I've got a pair of every animal I've unlocked, they're all just queuing up to mate!!!

I'm definitely addicted now - I want to go and have a bath, but my baby puffin will be delivered in 20 mins, so I'm not going to get into the bath until it's been delivered and I've redeployed the stork! I'm organising my life around Dream Zoo

Pinkpillkiller, what happens if you go on holiday and neglect your zoo? My guess is that you'll just come home to a zoo-full of dirty and hungry animals. :s: Am I right?

Nephthys, this is most definitely an addictive game. I feel like I don't want to go on holiday for a week and leave them. The thought of them being dirty and hungry waiting for my return is just choking me up. :bawling:

I asked my wife if we should perhaps stay at home - I cannot repeat what she said.

I blame Pinkpillkiller for introducing us to this game : laugh:
