These rent to own places kill me. They're straight out scams, but are some how legal and if you say anything about shutting them down, you're in favor of "hurting poor people".

Yup.... same thing with payday loan companies.

Yeah, some local councilman not too long ago tried to "crusade" against the pay day loan places. He was tarred/feathered as hating poor people and quickly moved on to other issues.
