anyone still using google now

I have tried several times to get into Google Now, but try as I might I just do not find it to be of any real use. I have tried again this week, persevered for the week to see if it would get better and start providing some great info or just really prove its worth. What did it give me, a weather forecast, estimated travel time to my work or home, couple of local pubs or restaurants and directions being shown for a couple of stores that I had searched in google for earlier when looking for some items. Voice search was ok as a novelty but not something I would use in public, nothing looks sillier than someone directing a question at their phone, usually several times before getting an answer. Final point was it took me to having to charge my battery far more often than usual as it definitely eats into battery. So anyway, my question is, has anyone genuinely found a real positive, long lasting beneficial experience with google now. I am sure there are lots of one off items where it has done something but I really have struggled to find a use for it. How has everyone else found it.

Absolutely

I bus to campus everyday, and when I'm at a bus stop, Google now will automatically give me a notification of the bus schedule at that stop. It includes when they'll get there, where they're going, and long it'll take me to get to campus.

I like the feature where it gets to know your residence and then your work. I moved over the summer and got a new job. It let me know if there was any traffic and estimated time it took me to get home. This may be a small detail but I really enjoy it so I still use it.

Thanks for taking the time to post. I have had the various things you mention happen as well, but to be honest I found the novelty value wore off very quickly. In my case I use same relatively short route home every night so traffic issues aren't really a problem. On odd occasion I take train or bus I use an app to see time of trains etc. It may be early days for this type of software and hopefully it will develop some real uses in the future but for me, following my several attempts at it, I can definitely live without it. Thanks again

If you don't use certain features, turn them off to help save battery.

I don't drive, so I make sure to turn off traffic notifications.

If you haven't yet, go through Google nows settings and check out all of the options it has

I need to ask about Google Now actually. When I used to use S Planner if I ever put the address of the place I was going to GN would give me driving directions from my home but since I've moved over to Google calendar it doesn't do this even if the address gets given.

Has it been taken out or does Google Calendar not integrate aswell with GN?
