Help Anyone tried a new text message app?

I personally didn't liek Handcent for that very reason. It seemed very slow and unresponsive at times.
I've found ChompSMS to be much smoother

Hmmm. I read a couple of reviews all from 15th July and once again "the recent update makes in hang and it is sluggish" !!!

Hey, I think about buying this phone but I was wondering if the screen was large enough to write SMS. Indeed, even I have not fat fingers, I use an unlimited SMS offer.

So how is your experience with the screen with all the different apps you can get on the Android Store to customine the virtual keyboard ?

The screen is large enough to write sms. With any choosen keyboard of your taste.
Some keyboards give you less space (1 instead of 3 lines) but in the end the experience is the same. I don't know why they don't use the whole screen to see what you're writing.

I had the HTC Desire for 3 days (I put some apps on it for a friend) and even that large screen did not get filled by the sms app and felt like I was using my x10 mini.

I'm digging into the Android API now and hope to get to know my ways around it shortly. Then my first app would be a new sms app for sure.
