So I saw this posting and was thinking...I have requested an invite on Google's webpage like 10 times...wonder if they sent me an invite yet. I searched my inbox and guess what...after about 3 months I finally got an invite. Anyone know any good sites that reference all the features? Is it possible to use google voice to text and get rid of verizon's text plan? Can it display my verizon number for texting or only the GV #?
Do you still have the invite if so please let me get it. scymeakah64@gmail.com
Hey what is google voice exactly? I recieved a google voice envite in my email, and I don't even know who sent it to me. I asked my friends and family, and none of them even know what it really is to have sent it. Does this mean I can envite others now? How do I find out who sent it to me? I think google just sent it to me randomly to be honest.
I am using the "Google Voice Callback" app, it adds a step to making a call but you do not use an access code therefore, only one number to add to F&F (and nothing to keep track off/change).One thing to do is to add your google voice number and the access number to your friends and family list. The access number will show up when you make a call on your Droid with the GV app installed and you make the call using GV. It will show for 5-10 seconds as soon as you make the call. I have my GV set to ask me every time how I want to make the call.
Also, keep an eye on the access number as it changes from time to time (no one really knows how long each access number is "good" for).

You can set filters up so it will always use GV for certain calls and always use your carrier number for certain calls, no deciding on a per call basis. It really works well, I've had no issues at all with it.
The one slight annoyance with it is that it calls you so you have to answer your phone to make a call. That, however, is worth it for the overall ease of using GV to it's max potential.
