Anyone's Wifi work on Sprint Galaxy S3?

I have a Buffalo N300 router and while my Sprint Galaxy S3 and my boyfriend's Nexus will actually connect to our wifi and will work occasionally (like for minutes) it doesn't steadily do it. I have to keep toggling between Wireless and 3G to actually connect to the internet which is getting super annoying. I even had a computer guy come out and check out my wireless and set it up and everything works great on my laptop but we just can't get our cell phones to keep a working connection. Is this happening to others and if not, what kind of router do you have that your phone works with? Is this just a Samsung software issue? Would love any feedback! Thanks.

Hi..I ve had my galaxy s3 for over a month and have had no issues at all. Great phone,I have had no wi fi issues at all,I use a linksys router but anywhere I go that wi fi is available it picks it up instantly. Your software might need updated or there might be something wrong with your phone..

If you search other forums, you will find that there is a wifi issue with the sprint GS3. I can't recall where I saw a specific post, but I've seen that Samsung/Sprint are aware of this issue and are already working on a possible fix in the coming weeks. Have you tried this:

Phone Dialer > *#0011# > Menu Button > Wifi > Turn Power Saving "OFF"

Thanks, trying it now. This really sucks and weird it also happens to my sprint nexus. Was hoping for an easy fix. Lol, guess whatever with Sprint!! :(

All my software is updated that it says so guessing its just a Sprint issue. Maybe I'll buy another router just to try but really weird and frustrating. Glad yours works though!

While not perfect definitely an improvement so thanks so much for your help. Been looking online but haven't been able to find if there is a way to turn powersave off on a Sprint Nexus S. Would you know a way?

Have you played around with any internal wireless settings? Broadcast channel, security type, etc?

I am on Sprint with my GS3 and that is one issue I have not come across yet. My WiFi works great. If not for that I would about never be able to connect to the internet because their coverage here is so poor. I use a Belkin Wireless N+ router. I also had to call Sprint and have them send me one of their Air Rave units because I couldn't even make phone calls from inside my house. They said I have 3 towers within a mile of my house and didn't understand why I had 0 bars at my home. They sent me the Air Rave which hooks to my wireless router and acts as a mini cell tower. I get 5 bars everywhere in my house now :-) Have other friends of yours come over and been able to connect to your network? To me it sounds like a issue with your router.

Is Sprint connections optimizer on? Could be a factor. Try toggling.

Settings 》more settings 》mobile networks 》 automatic connections.

Sorry, but noob so how would I go about doing that and what do I need to look for? I know our wireless router is set to the best channel because had a computer guy who's also a friend come hook it up and he checked all that out so I know the router is good.

We have an Air Rave too. And yes I had a friend who's job it is to set up wireless for companies check our our router and set it up and he says its fine. Since he's come our laptop works fantastic plus Comcast actually fixed the problems we were having with our internet while he was here and gave us a modem that works well too. So I'm still thinking its a Sprint\Samsung issue. Sucks because love our phones too. Turning the powersave off like told above helped but still slow sometimes but at least it does reliably open internet pages, etc. Just sucks having to reset if reboot phone which kept having to do the other day to send pictures through messaging. Sigh.

If your router has variable power settings you could try turning up the power which would increase its range and ability to establish connections with other devices. You could also try changing the channel it uses as your neighbors may by using the same ones and causing interference. If nothing else works reseting the router could help. BTW im rocking a sprint S3 and its wifi works great.
